Sprog1
The Lakeside website has confirmed the date for Lee Richardson memorial meeting as Friday 28th September. Greg Hancock has already confirmed he will be riding. The remainder of the line-up will be organised by Jon Cook, Rosco and Lee's brother Craig in consultation with Lee's family. The riders will ride for free and all proceeds will go to Lee's family. Admission is by donation to the family set at a minimum of £10 so nobody will be excluded because of cost but it would be fitting if those fans that can afford it can make a much more sizeable donation. I have to say I am very proud of Rosco for playing his part in the organisation, giving his services free of charge when its not his club and no doubt Rosco and Cookie together will be able to put out a first class field of riders who were special friends of Lee. All that remains now is for ourselves, the fans, do do our part and to pack the place out.. Edited June 6, 2012 by Custer Mouse

Wackie
I'll be there! Are you available to buy tickets before hand though?
keef
For me I would rather spend the 29 quid Grand Prix ticket money on this meeting.

A ORLOV
Probably be a good idea to try to run a coach from Swindon for this. Also the ability to purchase entry tickets before the meeting. Edited June 6, 2012 by A ORLOV
spencebel
Maybe ALL clubs could put a bus on. I would be interested if Peterborough did.

Driving on the M25 is no fun on a Friday. My dosh is going to the Rico fund, not the August SGP this year.Hope more follow suit. Perhaps they will have advance ticket sales as dont know how many the stadium at lakeside holds?.

Perhaps they will have advance ticket sales as dont know how many the stadium at lakeside holds?. Pre-sales of a speedway meeting always causes confusion as people think it's ticket only. I see no advanatage as Lakeside is huge and will hold many thousands. Do like the idea of trying to arrange mini-busses and coaches from around the country though. A ORLOV
It should be easy to sort out SCB as the numbers who will want to attend this meeting will be enormous, the last thing you want is to travel from say Somerset, or Glasgow and then not get in because H&S have put a limit on the numbers allowed. Each club will have a crowd limit, as designated by the Council. All Lakeside needs to do is have ticket sales only available up to a certain date before the meeting. If people do not purchase a ticket they take a chance on the day. The number of tickets sold could be put on the Lakeside Website so people not purchasing tickets can decide on the day.

That's my concern. Lakeside may have lots of room, but there will be restrictions as to how many people they can let in the gate. I don't want to travel all the way around the M25, get stuck somewhere and arrive a bit late to find out I've missed out because they're at full capacity. Pre-sales of tickets has often been the case with these type of meetings, we had them at Reading for Per's benefit meeting, was no problem then with people thinking it was all ticket, as long as it's advertised as tickets being available in advance, or on the door then there's no problem, and one thing Lakeside can do is promote a meeting properly. Personally I think Pre-sales of tickets is a good idea anyway. You get the money in the fund pot up front, so if people do cry off if the weather looks a bit iffy, illness, work commitments etc Rico's family fund won't miss out as the tickets already been paid for. Got a feeling there will be lots of people wanting to attend this meeting, if Lakeside sell tickets in advance I'll be buying ours that way.
essaitch
They've had 13,000 at Arena before for Banger meetings. I'd imagine that's plenty of space, especially as can use bits of the tarmac track as well.

Yeh your right I've been there and the cars have been parked right down to the entry roundabout so don't worry people there be plenty of room for everyone. I will be defo going to lee's meeting rather than the gp. And that's hope cookie and rosco can put a good field togeather this could be a great meeting for An even better cause #rico

Steve0
Just remembered that today is Rico's funeral - will be thinking about him and his family and friends today as they say farewell to such a lovely person. I will certainly miss seeing him ride again but he is an even bigger loss to Emma and their boys and hope that today isn't too hard for them. RIP Rico.

stevec
I will certainly be paying more than the £10 entrance for this. Its a sad day today with Lee's funeral. I shall be going up to the gates of the Crematorium to to see him in and then making it down to Arlo this afternoon. I hope there is a good turn out.
