oldace
Hasse i never watched Ole as much as you but i see quite alot of him but if i was betting my last pound on a best of 20 races Ole would beat him no doubt in my mind.Go on you tube and watch Ole take Collins from the back in the BLRC at hyde rd.At that time PC was awesome there and nearly unbeatable. The thing with Olsen was he would of took no messing from Pedersen ? was ruthless and as a rider could do anything. Also if Nicki was quick in front then how quick was Olsen?Cant take nothing away from Pedersen his achievements outstanding better than Olsen No. I tend to agree with you, although I wouldn't undermine Nicki Pedersen who has evolved into a great rider (sometimes even safe). I do think that Olsen at his peak just shades it over Nicki. As regards being ruthless Olsen was no gentleman on track and could be hard to the point of dirty on the odd occasion. Nicki still gets judged on his early GP years when he was riding a little harder than his ability level at the time and it got him into some situations, but the the last 5 or 6 years have seen Pedersen mature a lot as a racer

Hunty
Really looking forward to watching tonights GP. The track looks stunning and to be quite frank Parken and Cardiff are the way forward in terms of the speedway GP. Under a roof and allways capable of going ahead, purpose made temp track that will provide brilliant racing and a massive seated arena that will be packed! Gutted i miss the Britsih GP as its right on festival weekend!
lukasdrymllukas
Lovely afternoon in Copenhagen... Plenty of #RICO t-shirts around the city centre... Got out of Vesterport station & nearly bumped into a shade wearing Kelvin Tatum..As HtB said it's nice not to have to worry about the weather with the roof , though the bloke who told me at the airport he had booked for 2 nights in case it rained must be feeling a bit of a charlie !! richiej95
People moan about lack of British youngsters, yet seem to forget about Tai Woffinden, who is still only 21, only a year older than MJJ. He is still young and already one of the best. Seems clear to me Woffy has a future of challenging for World titles, yet apparently we have no good British youngsters. Come on we have one of the best youngsters around yet we forget about him!

I dearly hope it will be but there is a slight side event scheduled at the same time on television, namely, the European Championship Football match between Denmark and Holland (or more correctly The Netherlands, but try tellling that to the 'World Soccer' magazine editors, they seem to be resolutely and determined to stay in a time warp despite most other forms of European media falling correctly into line.....oooops i digress lol)! Will be a great show strength for the sport in Denmark if it is a well filled stadium.
Peter S.
Take notice of the Danish national anthem (spelling ?). The Singer should be miss Nana Gundersen ! Edited June 9, 2012 by Peter S.

WATCHED Ole throughout his career and at all his World Finals. Vastly under-rated when people talk of speedway's greatest in my opinion. Super rider at club level, too. Wouldn't consider him dirty at all, certainly very different in just about every way to Nicki, in terms of temperament and riding style. Ole was classical, typical of riders of his era, no hanging off the side of the bike or right peg off the footrest. Brilliant round the inside line. Can recall one occasion when racing against Malcolm Simmons in an international at Reading. Simmo was hugging the white line and Ole passed him... on the inside. "Don't know how he did it," said MS afterwards."He never even touched me!" But he was never a true motorcyclist, like Briggo, Simmo, or some of the modern era. Not sure he ever really rode any motorcycle other than a speedway bike. But was and still is passionate about speedway. It's his life. screm
A nasty tangle to start off with. Hope they are both okay Not good for Jarek. What a shame. From the pictures it looks like Hampels right leg took the full force, lets hope his injuries dont turn out as bad as they look. I hope Bjerre doesn't go to Leszno anytime. He will get killed. Dont be stupid, its racing, happens so many times unfortunately.
manchesterpaul
If Hampel's injury is as bad as commentators saying it's a great shame for one of the GP's favourite riders. I would have thought Bjerre was slightly to blame more than it it being first bend bunching. Certainly that's one of next season's GP nominations taken care off.
Phlipphlopp
After heat 1 of the Danish GP , we see yet another bonkers decision . How can the ref call all 4 back ? Bjerre loses control , no-one inside of him , and wipes out Hampel . I'm staggered by the decision . Or , is the ref a 'homer' ? No wonder speedway looks like a mickey mouse sport sometimes . PS. Hope Jareks injury isnt to bad
brandonbee48
Peter Ljung has come on a bundle this season. Looked very impressive in his first ride. As ManchesterPaul says, there are now only 3 nominations open for next year. Such a shame for Hampel, but these things happen. There looks to be a good crowd despite Denmark being on TV in the Euros. manchesterpaul
Heat 5 turned out to be as good as it looked it would be, certainly incident wise. Greatest credit to Holder for an amazing race to get back up to second place, also for his sporting reaction to some cut throat racing by Nicki Pedersen. I do wonder if Nicki would have reacted the same if he was on the receiving end of 'that' move. Yeah absolutely heartwarming to see such a good crowd despite the Denmark match clashing. Plus Heat 6 making it look like we got yet another Great Prix. Edited June 9, 2012 by manchesterpaul

screm
Still very early but it looks like Peter Ljung could be a darkhorse tonight. That Jepsen Jensen guy seems a decent rider. Agreed, doesnt seem to have anything coming to him,and Im sure he`ll be welcome in Leszno. Edited June 9, 2012 by screm
