All i want is to understand the rules-how come nigel, kelvin, louis ermolenko couldnt help? right or wrong what did you think the rule was? say if the same thing happened on the back straight of the last lap?Im not having a go its what we are led to beleive in gps-and what about the 2mins warning for riders in re runs-did you know that rule the its NOT DOWN TO THE REF

IN the GPs it is the Race Director who determines when the riders are ready for a rerun and then informs the referee to start the two minutes. Quite simple. In effect that is what happens for every GP heat. The two minutes is started by the referee when the Race Director orders the pit gate to be opened and the riders enter the track.

Craig Acroyd's semi-final decisions was also straightforward. The race had been competed the split second Hancock crossed the line and he could exclude Pedersen without a rerun. Simples.

Tonight after the Ullevi Grand Prix on Sky Sports there will be the Greyhound Derby Final. at Wimbledon.

Tonight's Speedway Grand Prix winner will get in the region of £6,500

Tonight's Greyhound Derby Winner will get £125,000

Therehas got to be something wrong somewhere when you would have to win nearly 20 GP's to get the same amount of money as what one mutt gets in a greyhound Derby race final

It will also be interesting to see how run down Wimbledon now is.

I guess it's down to breeding, i.e. the winner of the Greyhound Derby (Blonde Snapper?!) will earn a fortune at stud, whereas 'Fast' Freddie - although he may beg to differ, wouldn't be worth so much for his breeding exploits.

Can't believe THJ jumping off the bike like that and the ref bought it. Shocking! ;-)

Fancy giving Greg gate one in the semi though.

Yes Craig did indeed make the correct decision, in fact there really was no decision to make, the ref is not there to make up his own rules, merely to apply them as per the rulebook, that is what Craig did. Of course it doesn't help fans understanding when the commentators keep repeating incorrect info.

That was a major problem last night. Maybe they need a referee as one of the studio guests, who can clarify the rules in such cases. Last night, the rules were applied perfectly, but because the wrong information was given on Sky, many fans were confused.

Anyway, let's get away from that and say what a great Grand Prix it was. There have been some shockers at Ullievi in the past decade, but last night's meeting was a classic.

All the best

Excellent GP, and well done to Freddie. If you had told me at Lynn on Wednesday that he would win the next weekend's GP I'd have laughed as he looked a shadow of the rider we've become accustomed to. But fair play, he found the set up he needed and fully deserved the win in the end.

Holder and Pedersen looked the two stand out riders early on but neither could deliver when it came to the crunch. Hopefully the overall standings can stay as close as they are right through to the final round, would be great to go into that GP with three or four in with a shout of winning the WC.

Nicki was top entertainment last night, including comedy tash. :P

All the best

Rob

That tash is a cracker isnt it. :o

Pedersens good for the GPs and he`s good for speedway, and last night up to the semi-final he was the man on form, but that was a desperate move on Jonassan.

Decent GP with some good racing,Pedersen looked the all on winner,as the others seemed to be taking points of eachother.Hancock mustve been surprised to get the inside gate, first semi, but fair play to Lindgren, kinda went under the radar for most of the meeting but got it right when it counted most.

Apart from his last ride,Chris Harris is embarrassing himself in the Gp series so far.

WELL DONE FREDDIE. So proud of you. Lets hope its the start of something for him. He has the talent.

Welcome back to dirty Nicki. The only one who cant see its HIS fault.

You have been waiting for ages for him to do something like that Stevie

He was unlucky really, meant to slide up to him and "nudge" him off his line a bit .... not do a demolition derby job on him :P

I dont think Nicki went up to THJ in the pits to see if he was alright, I think he went to congratulate him on a dive that never was :D

Long live Nicki "The Beast" Pedersen

Philip you should know by now that SCB is never wrong.

Actually, he seems to "misguided" more and more these days. Shame, really, as he used to be reliable as the forum's rules' expert. He seems to have changed since the Coventry/Peterborough debacle of 2010/11. Come back the SCB we know, love and can trust

By the way, I cannot believe all the suppoprt for THJ. After all, he is a Poole asset and was clearly advised by the Prince of Darkness from his Spanish lair to jump off his bike to make Nicki P look bad

If a Referee declares the heat over after one or more riders have crossed the finish line, it shall not be re-run. Except in very special circumstances and situations that are beyond the control of the referee and have influenced the heat result. Then a heat can be re-run. Only the referee can take this decision and order a re-run.

I didn't see whether at the time of the collision, Hancock had crossed the line or not. In either circumstances...

1. If he had crossed the line, the rule quoted by NeilWatson applies, and the ref got it right.

2. If Hancock hadn't crossed the line and the race was still "live" at the time of the collision, then Crump should have been excluded anyway for both wheels crossing the inside line in his drama-queen attempt at avoiding the pile-up and grass-tracking his way to the finishing line.

Either way, the eventual outcome was correct, and hats off to the referee for the right call.

Drama queen? Watch the video replay - Crump committed to turning left to avoid THJ then found his path blocked by THJ's still moving bike. Which also ended up on the centre green. So he had to go further left to avoid it. What would you have done in the fractions of time available?

What has 2010/2011 winter farce got to do with it?

Even assuming I'm wrong with this(and I still don't see it) - what else have I got wrong?

Nice to see Freddie get the win in front of his home fans, hopefully that'll mean now Bomber and Freddie have home GP wins, that both can drop out happy at the end of the year and allow some new talent in.

Can't see Freddie dropping out at the end of the season after finishing in the top 8 ;)

1 #1 Greg Hancock 58

2 #10 Nicki Pedersen 56

3 #4 Jason Crump 55

4 #8 Chris Holder 52

5 #5 Tomasz Gollob 49

6 #3 Jaroslaw Hampel 46

7 #9 Fredrik Lindgren 37

8 #6 Emil Sayfutdinov 37

------------------------------------

9 #12 Antonio Lindback 31

10 #2 Andreas Jonsson 30

11 #14 Peter Ljung 21

12 #7 Kenneth Bjerre 20

13 #15 Hans Andersen 20

14 #13 Bjarne Pedersen 19

15 #11 Chris Harris 17

Bomber on the other hand would still be outside the top 8 even if he was on double points !!

Weird call on the semi final with Nicki's crash ........ but a fair one

To be fair Steve that is why Nicki is so good for the GP,a character that it needs in there as some of the rest are a pretty dull lot

Never disputed his inclusion, as he remains one of the better riders in the GP`s. Id rather a dull rider than a deliberate dangerous rider. Just my opinion.

Dull won the day. I couldnt be happier!!

You have been waiting for ages for him to do something like that Stevie

Nah, never have too long to wait for a typical Nicki P performance. :D
