greyhoundp
Thoughts on this one guys, i think it should, and i say should be an away win, i dont know to much about the young Kings Lynn side, but i think for them to have a chance of winning Adam Lowe needs to be riding for them. My one worry in this, the darned weather will it enable The Heathens to get their 2012 NL fixtures underway?. Just looked a how the Young Stars are likelyto line up. 1 James Cockle 2 Brendan Johnson 3 Lewis Kerr 4 Adam Lowe or R/R 5 Jake Knight 6 Tom Stokes 7 Scott Campos and to be fair that is a reasonable looking 1 to 7, and the Heathens will all need to be at their best to come away with something here, there should be some good racing, for the Young Stars they have a pretty solid looking 1 to 7, Brendan will have a point to prove, JC will be looking to regain a PL place, and for the Heathens Royno and Tommo have started the season very well, with Dan & Daryll expected to score their average, it will be down to Ash,Byron and JWW which way this meeting goes, after my earlier prediction on it being an away win, i would suggest on reflection, no more than a 6 point win either way. Bagpuss
Should be a comfy Heathens win looking at the teams but hopefully the Starlets can get stuck in and upset the applecart. Weather set fair so hopefully its a good evening's racing for those attending.

greyhoundp
good on yer em. Should be a comfy Heathens win looking at the teams but hopefully the Starlets can get stuck in and upset the applecart. Weather set fair so hopefully its a good evening's racing for those attending. I am not so confident, confident yes, but respectful and aware of The young Stars ability, yes Heathens are strong, but still not all firing, and anyone who can overtake Cam Heeps, can beat anyone in this League. Royno. 12 + 2 Tom. 11 + 1 Ash. 8 + 1 Byron. 5 + 2 JWW 4 + 2 Daryll 5 + 2 Dan 3 +1 That will give the Heathens a 48 point total, but i could see them all adding a point or 2 more than my prediction, as all of the Team have the ability to win races, or if one of the top 3 have a bad night, then it will be interesting. I have put my neck on the block anyone else care to do the same. Edited May 16, 2012 by greyhoundp
greyhoundp
Oh well not much right with my individual score predictions, but a 47-42 overall score wasnt to far away. It seems for The Young Stars the reserves scored well paid 21 between them, Jake Knights form is in stark contrast to 12 months ago, For The Heathens Captain Royno led by example, well supported by Ash, Tom, with Dan and Daryll adding points at vital times. Liamhgk13
Heathens are a very strong team! Should win the league with that strong team! Kerr looked very quick and fast out of the gate and 6+1 doesn't reflect his performance! Scott and Tom done very well from reserve and scored some good points. The young stars done very well against a strong Dudley side with abit more luck they could of won it!
Daniel Smith
Very very disappointed with the disgraceful Heathen supporters tonight. It's a very emotional time for British Speedway right now & their constant cheering when Young Stars riders took falls was horrendous. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Absolutely furious. Completely spoilt a nights speedway. Pretty angry right now
Liamhgk13
Yeah I have to agree!! That was very disappointing from the Dudley fans! Edited May 17, 2012 by Jock13
21st century heathen
I wasn't there so I can't comment directly regarding that but before having a pop at Heathens fans any further can someone state categorically that you could hear a pin drop and none of the KL fans cheered when our 5 fallers came off and dropped points? I stress the latter part of this because as has been said many many times people cheer the lost points NOT because any of us want to see people get hurt. ---------------------------------------------- This looks like a missed opportunity for KL to get one over on us. Following on Updates it's looks that we got off to our typical slow start, threw on a few falls (notably a potential 1-5 turned into a 5-0 in heat 2), lost a rider to injury and it took a late rally for us to grab the win but not quite all the points. This has been something of a trend for far too long now. We often nick something but don't take the maximum points due to a slow start in some way, shape or form. Best wishes to 'Boris'. He's taken a righty ol' battering at the start of this season with a string of falls/crashes. Hopefully there's still no serious damage done and he'll feeling better soon. Congrats Royno on another maximum. It's easy for some to say he's too good for this league etc but he still has to go out there and win races, nothing is handed to him on a plate. Ironically, he's under more pressure in this league because he's expected to go out and hardly ever drop points even though there are some very capable riders in this league that could easily beat him if he's not on it every time he lines up. Good to see Ash appears to have blown away the cobwebs after some sluggish performances in the very early stages of the season. He's going to be very important to us with the number 5 on his back. Often paired with a reserve or against the big boys he's got to be firing. Solid score by 'Fred' but sounds as though he was a touch off the very best we've seen from him a couple of times already this season. Solid by Danny but can't afford to throw too many away with any silly falls (throw away comment as I didn't actually see what happened last night). I'm a little disappointed James didn't score a bit better as he's had a few cracking performances this season. I guess, as with most number 2's, he's likely to show this sort of inconsistency. The biggest let down (poor choice of words really) so far this season has been Darryl. He's really struggling to get going. When, not if , he starts banging in the points we're going to look a really solid unit. Well done on the start to the season so far lads. Onwards and upwards. Ommer um. greyhoundp
Hiya 21st good to see ya back, i am not going to comment any further on this as i to wasnt there either, but i put my thoughts across on the Facebook page.
Liamhgk13
Well 21st if you had of been there you would proberly been disappointed with your fans. I know how fans can be but the timing was terrible. Cracking meeting though so it shouldn't over shadow that. Well done to both teams for an excellent meeting
Bagpuss
For me winning isn't really the be all and end all for the Young Stars but I have to say that I don't agree with those who have tipped Lynn as possible NL winners. Kerr and to a lesser extent Stokes & Lowe have improvement in them but the other four IMO have reached their level and that isn't what title winning sides are based on. The side lacks a bit of spark and as a punter doesn't really motivate me to go and watch, Kerr apart. That said I wish the lads luck for the remainder of the season and hope they prove me wrong. 21st century heathen
...but the timing was terrible. Yes, no argument there. Emotions are very raw this week too. Heathens fans are no stranger to seeing riders suffer serious injury and don't forget we lost one of our own back in the 90's too. I just wanted to make the point that fans, from all clubs, cheer the points being thrown away that's all. It's not the that anyone wants to see someone hurt. In this of all weeks I don't want this to overshadow the meeting and certainly have no desire to get into a long-winded debate or let it descend into a mud-slinging compeition though. Hiya 21st good to see ya back... Cheers. Should be around a bit more often now. ------------------------------- Can anyone that was there comment on Ritchings? He's not really got going properly, often sluggish out the start and not showing the pace we saw at times last season. Was he there or thereabouts last night or only really worthy of his points total?
