JACOB THORSSELL has confirmed on his facebook that he will be making his first appearance in England for this meeting (along with another new rider ...... Mathias Thornblom maybe ? )

MATEJ KUS and ANDERS MELLGREN are possible targets to double up

In the programme a few weeks ago it was said that former Wolves favourite, Krzysztof Pecyna will also be appearing

Ricky Wells, Pontus Aspgren and a host of young riders are likely to complete the line up ..... will Tai be included again or is he too good as he has won it for the last few years ?

A meeting set up to remember a rider that lost his life 37 years ago ...... and those that have done likewise since

Ten minutes before start time the terraces were still half empty, however more did come in by start time , but definetly the lowest crowd of the season.

AWFUL FORMAT. Im led to believe it was the same format as the one used for the New Year classic. No meaning and no real pattern to follow. Some riders not facing each and others riding against each other twice.

The line up for the Peterson meeting is usually a good and exciting one but this looked like it was thrown together and was poor by its usual high standards.

No idea as to why Lukasz didnt ride, maybe he wasnt up to it given he was in yersterdays meeting.

Pontus i believe didnt ride because of the U21`s?? If so why announce him being there.

Poor poor planning.

A very sombre opening. No music march out and very quick presentation. Plus a fitting minute silence for Lee with warm applause to follow.

The races started pretty much processionally but then livened up to some good and sometimes hard (yes you Fisher) races. He rode tai out too wide in heat 4 and both come down. Apparently had to helped taking off helmet and gloves and was a little surprised (and relieved) when he came out in heat 7. However his withdrawal meant that all was not as well as expected.

Fisher was back to his usual tricks and just giving Ty nowhere to go but shut off to stop him from staying ahead in the final. Ty had drifted wide but Fisher as always wont give a rider a fair chance to fight for his position.

Not a popular winner as some boos rang out when he tood on the podium.

Ty, Ricky both looked good and capable of springing a surprise.

Thomas was a real crowd pleaser and is really progressing well. Hope we see more of him. His batlle and re-pass of stead was excellent.

Kus - what a gater, but struggles holding onto positions. That said he fully earned his place in the final. Gated ahead in every heat, except the final!

Stead - should clean up with a field like this (woff excluded) however he struggled all night and no surprise he didnt make the final.

Ingalls got better as the track slickened.

The rest??

Mellgren did ok and i believe he is being looked at as possible D/U?

Palm Toft - Did get involved in some action but largely outclassed.

Randrup - had some moments but not really at a standard to be considered as a possible new 4 pointer

Thorsell - failed to score HOWEVER was in the thick of the action , lost points thru inexperience, led a race for a lap , looks tidy sort of rider. The one that looks to have the most potential.

Considering the circumstances, I thought all the riders should be applauded for going out and not just playing following the leader, think its a bit harsh to criticise Simon Stead when it was obvious that he didn't want to be there, he was not getting involved in the first bend (who could blame him), thought it was a bit sneaky of Wolves promotion to reduce this meeting to just 15 heats from the 20 of previous years, although with the stoppages I was glad it was only 15 heats in the end.

Nice to pay £2.50 for an out of date programme as well, wouldn't have minded if they hadn't covered up the fact it was from last week.

After his first ride I was suprised Steady scored points as he was clearly upset about Lee Richardson and not only had a black armband but also wrote R.I.P RICO X on his race jacket. ..... To actually score what he did deserves credit

PS; Had to laugh at Stead v Proctor races ...... looked like Jedward (twins) going around the track ...... if they had matching bikes, kevlars and helmets it would be hard to tell them apart.
