waco
The raiders take on Buxton on mon afternoon after the Rockets match at 2pm..Dont fancy raiders to win to many matches until the new boys gain a bit more experience,,But im fairly confident we are strong enough to win this one. Should be some good races with Buxtons no1 Rob Branford who always gives 100%.. i believe McKinna is also now in the team so not a stroll for our top 4 lads..Hope the weather will be ok for this,,as all the boys are in need of track time..... Shadders
I feel for the Buxton riders, fans and officials for a wasted journey, but anyone who saw the state of the track would agree that it wasn't worth risking man and machine in those conditions! Neil H
I can remember years ago, travelling down to Rye House to see the riders go out for one 'race' before packing up and going home. One didn't even bother to clean his bike and strapped it to the back of his car (they still did that back then) for a 'natural' wash. Great Central
have you ever been to buxton ? they would have thought it was a brilliant track Up to your usual constructive comments again. For information, the track at Buxton yesterday was really well prepared and held up well all throughout the meeting leading to two fastest heats of the season so your uninformed jibes were not needed or wanted. In fact none of your comments on this forum are needed since they are always derogatory. .

When you think how many clubs(at sea level!!) have struggled to get meetings on in this awful weather, just try doing it when you are 1500' above sea level. It isn't that long ago that the Buxton track was covered in snow. As for the falls, there were some, but that is part of not ridng on a flat track. I did notice for the first time, a more distinct adverse camber on bend 3 which is reminiscent of Rye House. Go past the point of no return and you are gone. It has probably always been there but I just have been in a position to notice it.

As for the team perhaps they need to bend some rules and sign an elite league rider Sure thats not what the league is about but some need to win at any cost. Shadders
Personally i dont think any one riding in the Elite League should be allowed to ride in the National League I can't believe Adam Roynon is allowed to ride in all 3 leagues. Sure the guy has had terrible luck with injuries, but allowing him to mug kids of their pocket money in the NL is just taking the p***!!
lynnemorley
does anyone know (officially) if we can use our admission tickets as a rain off??? i arrived at about 2.45 as i was working an hour away and didnt finish work till 1.30 and went to see the nl fixture. when i arrived i had to change in the car out of my work uniform, so prob hit the turnstile nearer 3pm. i queried the price as 1/2 the first meeting was over. so paid my £16 to see 5 heats of racing. i have emailed rye house, but no response so far. rather strange that jayne posted on here at 2.44 that the fixture was off. yet the riders didnt know anything in the pits at that point. had it been made public i would not obviously have paid to come in. thinking of going to see newcastle there on sat, but not if i have to pay again
Heathen1984
Knock at dudley i see, haha rules state he can ride so if dudley can attract a rider that good then y not. Y is it people always comment on roynon, maybe cus its dudley. R worrall does exactly the same but never any mention. Oh well fair playbto us and stoke on gettin two best riders in the league. Buxton dont av hardly any fans as it is and with that team, the few regulars wont wanna that week in week out. Hopefully buxton will get better as season goes on like last season

I couldn't give a stuff who he rides for as I have very little interest in the NL
greyhoundp
Okay let me just hi jack the thread a little, i am peed off people keep digging at Royno riding in the NL, 2 years ago he had another BAD injury and he was disgarded from the Workington Team, and struggled to recapture his form, last year he signed for The Heathens, only to get another injury <Broken Leg> and didnt really figure very much for us, this year he is elegible to ride NL, if we had not signed him i am sure another team would have, just because he is riding well enough to be in an EL team, what if he was still riding poorly, would people have commented then ??, Royno always stands down from the last heat if the match has already been decided, he is always geeing the youngsters up, giving them advice and tips, i am not a hypocrite, and have always advocated an older or experienced rider being in a Team, jeez hope Royno doesnt read that. Yes, no-one seems to pick up on the other EL/PL/NL rider Richie Worrall he and Royno both stand out in the NL and i look forward to there clashes together. waco
..Obviuosly while the rules allow it you cant blame the promoters for using riders of Roynon and R Worrell, class ...Or the riders for making the most of there opportunities.. But riders who can hold their own in the Elite League are to good for the National League...A rule restricting all riders to compete in only two leagues would be fairer all round in my opinion..I fully respect that others may not agree ,,I also think Roynon gets talked about because he has been around a lot longer than R Worrell.....Howarth and Garrity have moved up without staying in the National league and they are both much younger ...That is the progression that should be made.... Shadders
can anyone officially tell me please, if i can use my admit ticket bought at rye house on bank holiday monday for this sats fixture against newcastle??? the reason i ask is because i arrived at nearly 3pm and was charged £16. i asked the girl on the turnstile if that was correct as it was already heat 8 of the first fixture. so to my delight i paid £16 to see 5 heats of a prem league meeting i didnt go to see and nothing of the 2nd match i had gone to watch. i have emailed rye house, but as yet no reply, but was concerned to see that at 2.44pm jayne had already posted that the meeting was off, yet i was still charged full price. thank you for any information as the rye house website is down. I'd doubt it very much if you'd be allowed to use that ticket to gain readmission to another meeting... As normal PL prices applied on Monday the NL meeting was effectedly free, so you shouldn't really expect free admission to another PL meeting just becuase you arrived late on Monday!... I reckon you've got a cheek to ask!! Edited May 11, 2012 by Shadders

I reckon you've got a cheek to ask!! strangely, which part of OFFICIALLY did you not get????? i, unlike you, do not make a difference between leagues, are you a pl snob???? i go to pl and nl to see riders more than teams as i actually follow the el, i am and always will be a lakeside supporter, hence newcastle have 2 of my team riders in it and would therefore be coming to see them. oh gosh with all your comments regarding adam roynon, maybe you dont like richie worrall either. get over yourself. as i said i came to watch the nl meeting as was at work and couldnt get there in time for pl bash. but i do find you have a cheek when you are not sure yourself and i asked for an official answer as your club have not responded and still havent to a question emailed to them. BigDave1
Hi Lynne77, This season at Rye House the Raiders meetings in the National League do form part of double headers with the Rockets in the Premier League and the normal Premier League admission price of £16 is charged. As mentioned by Shadders this means that the National League meetings are therefore free of charge with only the programme costing £3 to cover costs. If National League meetings are held as a stand alone meetings the cost would be £10. In hindsight it may have been better on your behalf if you had waited until the Somerset fixture had finished and then went to see if you were allowed entry to the Buxton meeting free of charge.
