Tsunami
Once again we are holding training sessions every Sunday starting at 1.00pm and finishing at 2.30pm. The sessions are open to all Diamonds fans who want to ride motorbikes on the track, regardless of their age, sex or experience. There is group of us who will help you ride and improve your riding. We have 4 125cc's full frame bikes(3 new laydowns), and also 50cc, 70cc, 80cc and 90cc bikes for starters. If you have your own gear fine, but if you haven't we have helmets, goggles, gloves, tops and trousers. All we ask is if you can bring sturdy boots for ankle protection. If you have your own bike, bring it along, but we are limited to 150cc and under by SCB training track regulations. Of course medical cover is provided, and is sponsored by the Newcastle Speedway promotion. What will it cost you. NOTHING, everything is provided FREE. We believe in doing something to help British, and especially local, kids enter speedway, and this is one way of getting them riding without the need to go to an unnecessary expense to get started. Our first session is this Sunday 29th April and it will be on, weather permitting, every Sunday that the Diamonds are at home. On the day Tel number is 0191 2656581 Dave Rowland
crescent girl
This is very encouraging. Are you going to enter a team in the NJL, like Northside have done?

Tsunami
This is very encouraging. Are you going to enter a team in the NJL, like Northside have done? Yes, when we have 3 new league standard riders, but we won't use riders who have been around for years just to create a team.

With no meeting planned so far for next Sunday, the first session will now be on Sunday 13th May starting at 1.00 till 2.30pm.

Tsunami
The training session wil not be on this Sunday. With the next meetings after that being on Mondays, and the stadium not being available because of their track work, I will post on here when things change. Tsunami
Great News. The Training sessions are returning this Sunday 5th August and will be held between 1.00 and 2.30pm. Due to the requirement that the sheets on the dog track now have to be down for our session, can those that can make it arrive between 10 and 10.30am to assist with laying the sheets. The more the merrier and easier the job. Full medical cover is in attendance and riders will be provided with full riding equipment but may prefer to wear their own gear.In any case try to wear stout shoes/boots. The sessions are for male and female, young and older and with mixed riding experience. Tuition will be given by experienced trainers. And it is ALL FREE. Riders with their own bikes can ride but, due to the SCB training regulations, we are only permitted to use bikes upto and including 150cc. Come on you Diamond fans and show us how you can ride a bike. Bikes BTW vary from 50cc upto a 140cc. See you there. Tsunami
Well, we did manage to get the training session on but unfortunately not for long. After getting the sheets down on the doggy track, the gates and the netting in place, we managed to get about 35 minutes of riding before the heavens opened and it continued all afternoon. The PL meeting was called off and of course all the sheets then had to be taken off again in the poring rain. Finished about 4.00pm a bit clammy. Great response on the resumption of the sessions, with one 'mature' rider and 17 other Diamond fans ages ranging from 7 to about 17 year old. A great responce and very encouraging group of young riders. Despite the washout, I was delighted to see the response and enthusiasm from everyone involved. Don't forget it is on again next week starting at 1.00pm till 2.30pm and through to the end of September. Sheets need to be put down, starting at 10.00am, so if you can give us a hand it would be appreciated. All gear and bikes are provided and BTW it is all FREE.
Tsunami
Hoping that the deluge of water last week has gone for good, we will be running the training school this Sunday starting at 1.00 to 2.30pm. Forecast is good so we should be OK. All gear, bikes etc, is provided FREE so if you are a Diamond fan, why not give it a try and see if you like it. Certainly we had a great set of youngsters last week, but they did not get second rides due to the deluge. In view of the greater number of youngsters, I will be bring more smaller bikes this week and of course big bikes for the bigger riders. If you can help out, it would be useful to get there for about 10 - 10.30am to lay the sheets on the dogtrack otherwise we can't the training school. See ya there
Tsunami
We are looking at a dry sunny day on Sunday so the Training Session should be on. We start at 1.00pm till 2.30pm with continuus riding for riders of both sexes, young and a tad older, and of mixed ability to ride a bike. You will be provided with everything, Bikes and equipment, but either bring your own gear if you have any, or wear your strongest boots/shoes. If you have your own bike fine, but it can't be more than 150cc. It's all FREE with free instruction, on possibly the safest training bikes anywhere. If you can make it, could you turn up at 10am to help the sheeters get the sheets down on the dog track. Medical staff in attendance with SCB rules. Common you Diamond fans and have a go. See you all there
Tsunami
Rain again called a halt to the session after only about 40 mins run. Shame as we had 18 riders, mainly young, who were raring to go after some had had their very first rides last week. Good news is, that with rearrangements and some help again from our medical fans, we are now running the training sessions on the 2nd, 9th and the 16th of September which will probably be the finish for this year. The plan is still to start them at 1.00pm, but a couple of them might be switched to NOON because of other possible committments. More news on that nearer the time. With the next meeting being on a bank holiday Monday there will not be any training session on on that day.
Tsunami
Weather looks OK for Sunday so we should be having a Training Session starting at 1.00pm till 2.30pm. For the details of what we do, please read the previous posts but remember, it is all FREE, all I would ask is for you to bring strong boot/shoes. Everything else is provided. As we have to have sheets down on the doggie track for it, if you can come earlier at say 10.00am to help the sheeters it would be appreciated. Thanks.
