Leicester Track Debate

Recommended Posts

Did anyone watch the Eastbourne v King's Lynn match on Sky? Mr. Tatum was wetting himself because there were a couple of genuine passing moves after the first couple of bends during fifteen heats of totally boring racing. Another track that's a gater's paradise. I struggled to count up to three hundred spectators in the stadium. So take heed Mr Hemsley.

Tongue in cheek, one way of bringing more passing and excitement at BP would be to re-sign Richard Hall and Ilya Bondorenko. One could come from last to first. The other from first to last!.There you are, problem solved..

Without doubt the posting of the year!!

Under the Forum philosphy that close enough is near enough, the spelling and absence of punctuation rarely earns little more than a wry grin. However when this is combined with a delightful mixed metaphor, it does take on a classic quality.

Very well done!!!!

Come on Snacks . What constructive input to a thread about Leicester's dodgy track does pulling somebody up about their spelling and punctuation . At least that person is trying to make a point about the matter in hand .

Gave up commenting on spelling and punctuation ages ago, but the mixed metaphor makes it an absolute delight.

The sad thing is that whatever point the poster was attempting to make was effectively "lost in translation".

Have you misplaced your English/Gobbledygook translation dictionary then ?

Use it all the time old boy, particularly when north of the border!!!

Indeed, Norfolk is renown for its gobbledygook!!

Anyway , we transgress . So the general consensus would appear to suggest that the track is much the same gate and go animal as it was last year . Such as shame as Leicester has the potential to be one of the best venues in the Premier League . Unfortunately having a duff track hampers that potential somewhat and the sooner the Lions promotion realise that , the better .

Taken from David Hemsleys Rye House programme notes.

Kevin Doolan had waited patiently to speak to me about our track. Kevin was so complementary about the track surface and shape that it has reassured everyone at Leicester Speedway that our winter changes were correct and that we have one of the very best racing tracks in the country.

So nothing wrong there then.

I have only visited BP twice but on those occasions only saw passing in 3 races where a rider in front did not make a mistake.

The set-up there is great and I hope for all the faithful local supporters that the track does get addressed. As has been said opening up the entries to the bends would make all the difference and allow some different lines to develop.

Nothing extra will be done now Yorkscorp. Kevin Doolan says it's okay and convinced the management that it's one of the best racing tracks in the country so that's it.

The stadium and set up is good.

The track is crap.

The viewing from the back straight stand is even worse!

I went there twice last season.

Would I go back? Hmmmmmm?

Well if the Bears have to go there to win the league maybe, but otherwise no until they alter the track.

He probably doesn't. They've got their own weird language once you go over the border to Scotland.

You are correct , my English is shocking . I'm only amazed it wasn't the King of Smug , Mr Snackette , who pulled me on it .

What riders want and what fans want are entirely different things however!

From a nation that considers the deep fried Mars bar as haute cuisine, correcting a Scotsman on his use of language would appear a tad incongruous!!!

My problem now......trying not to appear too smug!!!!!!

Exactly , the riders loved the Glasgow 2010 track , but the fans were bored rigid . Speedway is in the entertainment business first and foremost .
