BOBBATH
That's great -perhaps Kev Torpie(-who is also fondly remembered for his whole hearted riding also) could tell John that there are stoill folks who remember him from his time at Middlesbro etc etc.
Split
I certainly remember Johnny Fitzpatrick from his time as a New Cross rider back in the 60's.
spiegal
Indeed as a very young boy at Ipswich I can recall Big John racing around the 410yd Foxhall track. The era of Bert Edwards, Bob "Cowboy" Sharp, Junior Bainbridge, Nobby Stock etc....Our school banned us from gping to the Speedway as it kept us children up later than 8.00pm !! BOBBATH
Your school couldn't get away with that now!! Glad to see you mention Bert Edwards, older brother of Harry I think. He passed away only recently I believe at 90+
