Haza
Another season starts in Poland and we still don't seem to have live TV coverage 999 channels on Sky box and not one of them show it why ? Sky F1 channel endless re- runs a race every other week why can't they show other sports such as Polish speedway every other Sunday and on the redbutton the Sunday's when there is a F1 race . Richspeedway
I am surprised Sky/Virgin/BT do not have a Polish channel as they already have some French, German channels as well as a few other countries.
brandonbee48
Public Service broadcasting is the preserve of publicly funded entities such as the BBC and TVP . Here in the USA where i am it is PBS. Every other broadcaster is a private entity whose remit is solely to make a profit. They do this by selling advertising and then delivering numbers of viewers to those advertisers. Unfortunately our (greatest of all ) sport only delivers a fraction of the viewers that Formula One does. We can argue all day that it should. But it doesn't. Till someone decides to risk their money we can be grateful for the public service streamers who bring it to us here each week. Join us tomorrow here online. I wish i could say there are thousands of us worldwide but there are not. More fool those who don't know what a wonderful spectacle speedway is but that is reality which is what TV companies go by. iris123
Wonder why people expect such things to be shown.Speedway is a minority sport in Britain,,,,,,British speedway. So why do you think that something even more minority like a foreign league will be shown?????Forget football and the fact that you might see Italian Serie A or Spanish,French or whatever.Speedway can't compete with that. But do you generally see foreign leagues from minority sports on tv? I don't

MattK
The main difference between foreign speedway leagues and foreign anything els, is that it's the same riders (almost) that we see here in England. I think it would be interesting to see what kind of audiences speedway would get if it were not on a subscription only channel - even if it was on a free Sky channel such as Eurosports or Motors. I have the feeling there are a lot of closet speedway fans who would tune in.

mickthemuppet
Is live Speedway from Sweden going to be shown on Premier sports this season? Edited April 9, 2012 by mickthemuppet
LagutaRacingFan
Some guy on Facebook from Save Coventry and Peterborough Page. I've been in contact with Premier Sports - which is on the SKY platform - and they said they'll have news by the end of 'this week' regards Swedish and Polish Speedway being broadcast. Last year they aired the Swedish league. They have been in discussion with GSI regards Polish Speedway coverage. Not suggesting it's good or bad, just wanted to let you all know in hope that you can watch two good leagues and some of your P'boro and Coventry riders. Just been announced in the past 20 minutes that Swedish Speedway wll return to the channel in a two year deal. There will also be a change of commentator, Dave Goddard is doing it. He does commentaries from Brummies and Wolves meetings for Clean Cut Sports, so should be better than the last guy. Good news. Angus Kix Lives
Although not live Polish TV are now making the matches available for legitimate viewing on their website: http://sport.tvp.pl/zuzel?sort_by=RELEASE_DATE&sort_desc=true&start_rec=8&listing_mod=&empty_websites=&pokaz= I use Google Chrome's translate facility to read the page. Right now it has the first three matches all in full plus shorter highlight packages. As opposed to the many dodgy 'streaming' sites this is all quite legitimate to watch outside Poland. TVP are the national broadcaster for Poland. I very much suspect this is going to be the best we see in the UK. I can't see the figures adding up for the matches to be shown live on TV with English commentary.
Backless
Plus the fact that the Cheerful Orange Coloured Kockanee is seemingly much more untested in screwing everybody in sight rather than actually achieving anything. Still there are the many sponsorship deals he's brought into the sport to administer too.

TwoMinuteWarning
i guess they couldnt cut a deal with gsi Or maybe GSI bought the rights to STOP Polish speedway being shown on UK TV, which could further affect the low attendances at many tracks .... probably not, but just a thought !!
