Sandie
We start our USA Future tour with a little trip over to the Island. Our team will be: Mike Buman (Capt) Dylan Black Bryce Starks Gino Manzares Russell Green Aaron Fox and Brad Pappalardo. And whilst we think all our boys are special you may just want to check out if young Brad has his Uncles ability on a speedway bike. Brad is the nephew of the current world champion - GREG HANCOCK. Come along and check out all the touring boys. Who is coming along to support either team??
SteveEvans
Brad's job on the tour is to enjoy and learn - no pressure on points like every newby who has ever toured. The top 5 all have UK experience so we'll be hoping for some points from them though!
rhidassa
I should be making the trip over, though I will be missing the Kings Lynn leg.
Main Man
A BIG thank you to one and all at the IOW for their hospitality last night. I have posted on the Rye House v USA Future section about the problems we encountered in the pits with machinery last night. A long day --I got back at 3.20 am , the riders at 4am --but very much worth it. And another BIG thank you to the two gentlemen (yes Steve I called you a gent!!) who kindly allowed us to boost the tour funds by auctioning off two race bibs . Also thanks to everyone who bought any merchandise and generously gave to the bucket collection ...all much appreciated !!
Jef
My first speedway for 4 years, (work commitments) Thoroughly enjoyed it, We were walking it until the rain started, only Danny Warwick and Paul Starkk seemed to cope with a wet track. Looks like a good team this season, hopefully a succesful year? A couple of questions: - Why was Marc Owen nominated for the last ride when he'd already missed 3 through mechanical problems? I thought the Nominated race had to be from the top 4/5 scorers? - Why are speedway bikes so unreliable? always baffled me, you dont seem to get the's problems with road bikes. Finally a big well done to the Islanders management, First time I've been to see National league at Smallbrook, the whole set up looks very profesional and obvioulsy a lot of work and investment in the track and facilities! I'll hopefully be a regular now that work allows!
Islander15
Glad you enjoyed NL racing Jef. I obviously wasn't there myself but hopefully we can challenge for honours this year. As to your 2 questions I don't know the second but I think heat 15 is for the top 3 average riders & top 3 scorers on the night. So for us the top 3 averages were Webster, Warwick & Hopwood, top 3 scorers Warwick, Webster & Starke. I can only assume that Owen was allowed in simply because it was a challenge fixture

slim24
Jef, in answer to one of your questions, Marc was in heat 15, because as already said above he had lost some rides to bike problems, but also because he had asked for some laps after the meeting, but as you can understand the conditions on the track weren't improving, it was thought best to offer him 15 to try the bike and get the meeting closed, under normal meeting regs he would not have been eligible. Pleased that you enjoyed you first visit in awhile, there's alot of good people, putting in alot of time and effort to turn things around and bring some success back to the Island.
