berniev123
Could not be there so does anyone know the score as the AJL Select was half Heathens!
Super Blue
Unsure of the final score in this as it only ended up as 5 heats . The Heathen reserves obviously decided they didnt want to take part at the last minute and screwed up the concept of the challenge . Im sure someone has the score but not all races ended up with the full 4 riders . A shame as there was some competitive racing and the whole idea is very good for the future of the sport . PhilK
Why did it 'screw up the concept of the challenge'? There was some competitive racing though as you say, but only the last race ended up with 3 riders when I believe Andy Mountain suffered bike problems? Ended up - The Complete Car Services 'Fen Tiger Cubs' 16 AJL Select 13 Fen Tigers Cubs 1. Josh Bates - X 3 2 = 5 2. Joe Graver - 1 1 1 3 = 6+2 3. Nial Strudwick - 1 2 2 = 5+1 AJL Select 1. Nathan Stoneman - R 2 3 = 5+1 2. Andy Mountain - 3 3 ns = 6 3. Tyler Govier - 2 X F R = 2 Some really good racing, and no mistaking Tyler Govier's score did no justice to the skill and effort he put in, very impressive and look forward to seeing him next week, when we have another challenge fixture lined up against The Kings Lynn Lightning Edited April 10, 2012 by PhilK

nick
I don't suppose anyone knows the times for the Wedrick/Bailey races.

My comments were more biased against them as opposed to what took place , possibly a bad choice of words .
Presenter
I don't suppose anyone knows the times for the Wedrick/Bailey races. I only have the time of the first of their races, which was won by Ollie Wedrick in 59.9 Likewise, only one time of the Whitmore/Mountain races, 55.82 in the first race
berniev123
Thank you all for the results and I agree that it was a shame that the late withdrawal of Daryl and Dan must have spoilt the chances for the AJL riders. They must have had their reasons. Hope we can put a return AJL Challenge Match on at Monmore Wood in the return with them both, Daryl and Dan, taking part but with time constraints I can't see that happening. Will we at Monmore Wood ever see a MJL Team, I can but hope as it would help our reserves and the future of the Heathens!

Super Blue
Is that the reason they didn't ride?? I dont know the true reasons for their withdrawal but both completed schedualed rides , neither appeared to have any mechanical problems and neither got injured so unless they suddenly needed to be somewhere i dont see any other reason . If they had time issues why agree in the first place ? Anyway lets put that one to bed and look forward to the AJL proper . Do we know when the league actually starts as these are just warm up challenges so far , arent they ?
PhilK
Yes they are challenges at the moment, a draft fixture list is being compiled, as soon as something concrete is available I will post it. I believe The Complete Car Services Fen Tiger Cubs will begin their league season away at Peterborough Thundercats on Thursday May 19th. Before that is another challenge this sunday versus Kings Lynn Lightning The good news is that it seems each side will ride each other home and away twice during the league campaign, so we should have full second halves at Mildenhall every week this season!

Just to confirm the Fen Tiger Cubs are scheduled to race against the Peterborough Thundercats next Thursday 19th April. A draft fixture list up to the middle of June has been sent to all clubs with dates for mid June September to be issued shortly. Certaintly a great time for junior league racing. Main Man
Is that the reason they didn't ride?? I would not think so knowing both lads well. A bit of unfair criticism I think. Dan has only one bike at the moment and from reading the updates fell in heat 14 ? Darryl would ride every night of the week if he could --so I do not think it was that they were not bothered !!
