speedy19902006
Exactly the same as at Redcar................... Nothing!! Totally agree... I was at Redcar and it was 6 and two 3's (which equates to a racing incident) leave the lad alone and let him learn his trade...
frostylion
well said, hes just been in the the wrong place wrong time, these things happen in speedway, especially in tight first corners,
southern1
so richie is involved in a couple of racing incidents at the start of the season and now every time he goes into a first bend and someone goes down it is his fault. I have seen richie ride from one of his very first amatuer meetings and there is no way i would ever say he is a dirty rider just one that is very comitted to making it all the way in this sport. give the lad a break.
Brough Diamond
Oh -REALLY bright, come on here to disrespect a rider and spell both his name wrong and the rider you intend to compare him with. 3 riders arrive at the bend together and the rider on the inside hugs the white line. Where else would you have liked him to go? On the grass perhaps?
SCB
I'm amused at those defending Richie - it's clearly just a terrible co-incidence, right? He's clearly toughening up on the first bend but as I said the other day about the lad, GOOD! It's about time we had a Brit who put it about a bit, especially on the first bend. I look forward to seeing him in the EL and only hope his ruthlessness means he scores a few points - as long as his team mates don't score too many and Coventry still win the meeting! Having a reputation for being a "bit hard" did Nicki Pedersen no harm did it? Edited April 1, 2012 by SCB
Ben91
Maybe if he is riding a bit harder this season that's why he's had a great start to the campaign, it's called having balls. Here's an idea, why not send each rider out for four laps on his own for his programmed rides and whoever gets the fastest time is the heat winner, no-one can get hurt by anyone other than themselves then and i'm sure it'd be really exciting.
southern1
liking the comparision with nicki p, hope he carrys on riding like he is and ends up progressing at the same rate he has from when he first came onto the scene less than 2 years ago and maybe we might have another top british rider. Gaz
Workington rider tried to clamp Richie on inside when he was not ahead, yet obviously to the workington fans there was only 1 rider at fault because they had read on this forum about Richie at Redcar
Yearbyred
Comments: Diamonds Rock: Race stopped due to 1st bend crash. R Worrall into Ingalls who went into Howarth and then both into the fence. R Worrall should be excluded - but a rerun with all 4 ridfers. both Workington riders in fence still. Now, all riders have walked back to pits. I had no idea diamonds rocks was a Worky or Redcar fan! Edited April 1, 2012 by Yearbyred
northyorksbear
In my view there is hard riding, dirty riding and "reckless" riding Of the three incidents referred to from Redcar I would say two were hard riding, first running of heat 15 with Kus and last week's heat 13, Richie didn't back off going into first bend (as supporters would expect) and neither did opponents resulting in classic first bend bunching as early poster said 6 and two 3s. The other incident, second running of heat 15, I think it was "reckless" riding and by that I mean Richie tried to pull off a move that wasn't on and as a result caused both riders to crash. I think he was trying to be hard, but wasn't in position, nor had the skill, to succeed in his manouvere. Hopefully on reflection he learns from this and accepts his capabilities and knows when to make moves and when not. As to tonight can't comment, but if he refused to back off and everyone came together then fair enough Richie has been impressive this season and it is fantastic to see a young British rider improving so much, pity it's not in a Redcar jacket!! At the moment every crash with him "involved" is going to get comments and he does need to ensure he doesn't gain a reputation which would be difficult to shift. Certainly looked like he caused the Worky riders to come off and the referees decision probably cost Workington the match. Whether it was intentional or not - not sure, would need to see it again. Was a hard first corner.
Dekker
I/m sure ritchie will learn over time what he can do and not do, its called experience.
Yearbyred
My post wasnt meant to be anything other than to point out that it wasnt Worky fans (or Redcar) fans who thought he was at fault for tonights incident (I wasnt there so cant comment) but a Newcastle supporter. LIke NYB I saw the incidents at Redcar and agree with his assessment of them. Edited April 1, 2012 by Yearbyred
