Mildenhall V Dudley - National League Shield 8/4/2012

Looking forward to this one tomorrow with a little apprehension as Cam seemed a little out of sorts at Foxhall yesterday ! Hopefully it was just a blip with machinery as he had his mechanic with him on the back straight before one of his rides .

I think he may struggle to keep his 9 plus average this season after taking the NL by storm last year with his commitments at PL and NL levels this time around .

Like others i think the outcome of this meet may come down to how both teams No 1's perform but Cam's gating could well be the deciding factor on the day . He really has not been good in that department so far this season , being last out in most of his races .

There are seven riders in the Mildenhall team, not just Cameron

There will be plenty of individual battles throughout the meeting that could decide the result, but it should be close.

Weather looks set to hold, so bring it on :approve:

Mildenhall have a Gem in Nielsen, He'll surprise many a person during this season. Wouldnt surprise me if a few PL teams arent knocking on the door come the middle or end of this season. Improved Immensly over the Winter and having the likes of Michael Lee and Chris Louis on his side will only improve him further.

This looks like being a very, very close match. Difficult to predict, being the start of the season and many of these riders will have had very little track time etc.

Last season's opening meeting at Mildenhall between these two was decided by a single point, and looking at the team line-ups, it wouldnt surprise me if there was only a couple of points in it either way again this time around.

The two number one's are bound to be pushing to be the top rider in the league. Its difficult to know which pair of reserves will be the stronger, as Mildenhall's have had so little track time. Tom Perry, I would say, is the top rider out of the two sides' middle order pairings, but Joe Jacobs and Byron Bekker will both have something to prove in 2012 after disappointing last season. Daniel Halsey is a solid NL rider on his day, but had an inconsistent 2011. Lewis Blackbird established himself as a NL heat leader last season, and will be looking to push on towards PL consideration this season, so he and Ashley Morris could be pretty evenly matched.

whats the weather like out in mildenhall? we are leaving at noon and any weather updates/forecast would be appreciated

I'm about three miles from the track.

There had been a little overnight rain in Mildenhall, but nothing today. Its overcast and chilly but thankfully dry!

Expecting Dudley to be much sharper today.

Heeps aside Mildenhall riders have had very little competitive track time.

Think it'll be a very tight match and wouldn't be at all surprised to see it go down to a last heat decider.

Congratulations to Nathan Stoneman for a great debut for the Fentigers......paid 6-points....brilliant start.

What a debut 15 years old and opens his league career with a win and to go on to net 5+1 from 4 rides

Somerset really need to look after this lad and sign him for the future
