drew2
Well Done to Joe Haines on his second British U21 title. Congrats also to Tom Perry on his second place finish which now sees Somerset now have 4 riders in the World U21's qualifiers! With Kyle Howarth rounding out the top three it made it a Rebels past and present podium!
T.N.T.
Wouldnt count Joe Haines out of winning this one as he certainly knows the track well enough and has had a few spins around after meetings. Certainly deserves a break after his injuries over the last few seasons  Practice makes perfect ....... Well Done Joe
Brummie Kev
Well Done to Joe Haines on winning the U21 Championship, glad he won it after all he has been through. There was an interesting interview with Ty Proctor on BBC WM last night talking about Joe Haines's win, both he and Joe are good friends and Ty has acted as 'mentor' towards Joe. Â Interview on this link: Â http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/p00qzsks - Skip to 2:33:00 Â Nice to see Tom Perry doing well, been a fan of his since he started doing speedway. waco
Shame that Richie didn't get on to the podium. He rode so well, however a little bit of luck is needed at these events and I'm pleased Joe had some of that last night, he's had a terrible year or so. well done Joe! Richie's day will come! He will be to old next year i believe...The point i was making earlier was that under the old world final system the two best riders on the night would have been in a two man race off having tied on points so one of them would have won,,If Richie had gone through the tapes Tom Perry would have won a fairer result ,,and Richie would still have been runner up..Being from Rye i have no preference for any of the riders in the top six..The old formular does not rely on luck in one race making the rest of the meetings results almost superfluous..... Been a bit old school would not say that I would disagree with you, but this is speedway now, most of if not al of the riders riding in the championship will only really know this way.

You would think so,,But the new formulars were bought in to make it supposidly more exciting for the fans ..The same reasons as the league play offs The riders opinion was not considered and i have spoken to quite a few and they would all prefer the old 20 heat top scorer wins formular because it is the only way to get a totally fair result and does not result in only one race being really important were luck often decides the winner.... No rider is forced to enter, if they don't like the formula, don't enter, simple! I'm sure that Joe Haines quite likes the formula at the moment, conversely, Ritchie is probably not its number one fan.

I see your a fisherman lets put it this way..If you were in a fishing competion and cought the most fish or had the heaviest bag would you be happy if the guy who caught the last fish to come out of the water was declared the winner..?? I would if they were the rules stated before I entered. Generally in fishing its the heaviest total weight, but you dont get the fisherman who caught the biggest fish complaining. I'm sure we've all moaned when our team has been pegged back by a tac ride, but we don't mind when our team bags six points, its all swings and roundabouts and all the riders knew the rules before they went onto the track. BTW, i'm sure Greg Hancock thinks its unfair that this years world championships are over 12 rounds, if it was a one off he'd have secured back to back world titles by now, but i'm sure there are another 14 riders who are glad its not! greyhoundp
I see we had the Chinese Formula 1 GP last weekend, if i recall Vettel won one race and got a Trophy as did 2nd & 3rd place guys, thay also got a number of points. We also had a similar formula for the Motorcycle GP, and the Speedway GP as you say. This was not named GP but the British under 21 Championship, and as such it should be 16 riders, 5 races, highest points scorer on the night to decide the winner, race off between equal points scorers for 1st,2nd and 3rd positions. I am not complaining in any way, as i am a Heathens fan, but like Waco my preference is for old formula, Yes this seems to have been brought in for the benefit of the fans, ie a race or two extra, if it is to be with this formula, then it should not be a one off meeting, but a round held at every NL Track and then it can be GP Style, and GP style scoring, hey that aint a bad idea for 2013 therefore we get 8 indivdual meeting winners, and an overall Champion deservedly so after 8 meetings on 8 different tracks & conditions, so we have British Under 21 Champion old Formula, and British Under 21 GP Winner gp style. also i believe the winner of both events, progress to the World Under 21,s for the following year. Is everyone happy now, ? You see guys theres always a way round these things if theres a will, theres a way, now just convince the BSPA which is an entirely different matter.
refereerick
I'm not saying I like the format myself, I sponsor Joe Jacobs and he lost out in similar circumstances in the under 18's a couple of years back after top scoring and losing out to Brendan Johnson in the final, so I have reason to empathize with Richie, but those are the breaks and you know the rules before you enter the competition. greyhoundp
With complaints from the fans of those riders without an NL berth. Â And the point is ? Â I did suggest a British Junior Championship, to be competed for by the 2 reserves of each NL Team, which could still be done at the end of the season, 8 Teams actually makes this easy to do, where could it be held, and would a Track want to host it ? Â I have no idea, i am sure the Young lads would love to compete for something like this, and if the Host Track were chosen purely on economic reasons it would have to be at Monmore, were it to be on fairness and neutral, then it would have to be somewhere like Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham, I only nominate them because they are Central for all the riders to travel to.
