Pearce [9-14] Unfortunately fell foul of the 'curfew' and had to end after 4. There had been a long delay when Jack Kingston got hurt in the second staging of the fateful heat 2. Tough on the YHs who were denied a chance to get back into contention but especially on Dale and Wayne's lads coming all that way for just two rides each. No winners times for heats 1, 3 & 4 as couldn't hear in the pits. Down to someone in the cosy and more acoustically friendly bar to assist..? Parsloes 1928 nearly
With news that Ryan Daley (the more recently NZ-based debutant for the Tiger Cubs) having been born in Hammeresmith, it means that no fewer than FOUR of the riders in action in his match were born in London Boroughs... Daley in Hamersmith & Fulham; Jack Kingston in Barking & Dagenham; and the Pearce bros in Waltham Forest. Wonder when was the last time FOUR Londoners appeared in the same match!! Upper Edmonton is EVEN better...!!! Now here's a London-related questioin for you... Which other relatively recently 'active' Speedway rider was also born in Edmonton (Upper or otherwise).?! You'll know Mimmo, coz you're the king of the date & places of birth!!

Parsloes 1928 nearly
Ah yes, well funny enough that IS correct but actually I was thinking of someone else!! A rider who really IS a big favourite of mine... Though to be fair, not a rider with anything like as distinguished record as Master Cockle. Your next challenge..: name this OTHER rider!! No - and to be honest not sure if he ever did notch up any official appearances..? I think maybe once with Plymouth maybe but I know him from his own appearances (in second halves) at Wimbledon... Mimmo
No - and to be honest not sure if he ever did notch up any official appearances..? I think maybe once with Plymouth maybe but I know him from his own appearances (in second halves) at Wimbledon... As I moved away from Wimbledon in 1986, I wouldn't have a clue who was riding second halves at Plough Lane after that. Okay, my next stab at this intriguing poser that you've set me is CECIL FORBES. If it's not him, then you'll have to give me a further clue, cos I'm sure as hell not giving up on this one yet.

One-time RH Cobra Ollie Greenwood continued his comeback from injuury, like he had been at Sheffield in the MDL on Thursday, the 2007 GB U-15s national champ was unbeaten. A team debut in the UK for French-based rider Adam Ellis capped off by partnering Mark Baldock to the 5-1 in heat 6 to win the 'Capital Challenge'. Adam Sheppard contributed vital placings to help secure the Lakeside win. And Ollie Weldrick so unlucky as he couldn't avoid the fallen Exley in front of him in heat 2 and aggravated his collarbone injury leading to having to withdraw from the meeting Help with times for heats 1 to 4 plus the middle of the three U-15 races would be appreciated!
