The Know
ANDY ... huge Monster hospitality rig outside the stadium, attracted fans like bees round a honeypot Friday and Saturday. Lots of other Monster activity there. Inside loads and loads of Monster branding, gantry above starting gate, new scoreboard bedecked in Monster, new lining up zone, lots of Monster presence in pits, their own photographers and media guy (grandson of Peter Oakes, very promising young journo) and so on. Probably had to be there to fully appreciate but, believe me, it was very proactive. And, of course, with two different Monster riders winning the opening two GPs they are over the proverbial moon. hi Phil, as you say maybe they went all out at the venue for the fans. as said before i think it is good for speedway. just compared to other motocycle events with monster as a sponsor they have far bigger and better tv exposure as well as all the event stuff. the start gate bit was feeble really, some bend banners and a floor mat. would of expected far more from monster. i got more from the bsi for me £2.50 Another freeby event for you. Do you ever pay and contribute to any sport. he was more than welcome to have them. over the years i gave away hundreds of tickets and pit passes ( 600 at cardiff ). if you dont ask ya dont get. dabbsjoe
i was watching the GP on a polish stream and when Adam Skornicki was interviewing Gollob there was a guy there in Monster hat who i believe is in a rock band or something, he also interviewed Gollob and i believe he was present at the announcement for Monster Energy sponsoring Speedway

It's on Youtube somewhere quite catchy but nothing I would call great. Heard a lot better rock bands in my time.

I guess they were there due to the Monster tie-in and they are also scheduled to appear at the Gorzow GP.

Probably had to be there to fully appreciate but, believe me, it was very proactive. His name is Josh Gudgen, which I'm sure you knew, but just had a senior moment. But please don't build him up to much - He'll think he's to grand to buy me a drink at the WTC qualifier this weekend. yep just like my fan club on here indeed you did have your own tickets and i was more than happy to supply the pit passes I'm in your fan club too. I have been fortunate enough to have pit passes from you in the past (via the Bird) for which I was very grateful and thankful and then went off to sit in my paid for seat. You pay a lot of money to sponsor a GP what you do with the passes you are given is entirely up to you. And I think your a very very nice man and I really hope you do another one soon cause your a really really nice man!!! Is that enough sucking up do you reckon!!!! BigFatDave
Not too sure of the figures, but they must give away Pit Passes in Cardiff by the thousand, judging by the procession of people through the cavernous PIt Area. Overseas GPs pit passes are far more limited, and of course the trick is to score a Media Pass; much more enjoyable. Was the bar in the pits open at Leszno this year, or have they banned alcohol in all major Polish events, similar to last year's SWC at Gorzow? severnsider
On the monster site you now can access profiles on all the four gp riders. The have a report on the two grand prixs so far as well as a preview for Leszno and a big picture on Tomasz on the rolling banner showing their sponsorship of the series. As regards the band I liked the song which featured Tomasz in the video

RIDERS are at liberty to request Paddock passes for their guests at each event. In Copenhagen, for example, the four Danish riders will probably have hundreds of guests arranged through their respective sponsors. Paddock passes do not include admission to the stadium and access to the pits is denied after 17.30.

Superbly filmed. Not so sure about the guns though. Also not sure the cheap childish comment at an ex sponsor is fitting. The company put money into the sport when i would guess not many others were queing up to do so
