PHILIPRISING
IF you are talking of Steve Brandon who are over-stating his role with SKY. Humphrey: Who says Sky (UK) are main broadcaster? IF you are talking of Steve Brandon who are over-stating his role with SKY. Humphrey: Who says Sky (UK) are main broadcaster? BFD: If you are talking about Brando, he is actually a freelance TV Floor Manager who works for Sky at Elite League matches in the UK. At SGP events he is employed by BSI, both as a Floor Manager and as an interviewer for their World feed, which sometimes Sky hook into especially if they haven't sent either Chris Louis or Charlie Webster. The TV production at ALL SGP rounds is intimately under the control of BSI who employ Steve Saint of Artifexmedia as their director. BSI also employ the people who handle the graphics. There is a host broadcaster, working alongside Steve Saint, at each GP. In Britain it is Sky, in Poland Canal+, Denmark dk4 and so on. Other than Cardiff, where they have their own units in addition to those providing the pictures for the rest of the world, Sky take the same as the other broadcasters. oldace
Would of thought that would be a concern to BSI who've gone out on a limb with a NZ GP, only to find the main broadcaster isn't interested in screening it live.... Oh dear, I would HAVE thought better of you than to fall into replacing "have" with "of". tut tut tut
willstaxi
This morning I phoned the SKY progamme queries line on 08442 410 265 and was told that they are showing all 12 rounds starting 31/03/12 but at the moment the gp has not been allocated to a channel or the times it will be shown. I would suggest that the more people that phone the more chance that it will shown live

PHILIPRISING
MY understanding is that Sky will show the NZ GP but probably on a slightly delayed transmission.

I would be disapointed if they dont show it Live, what would their reason be for not doing so. Its scheduled to be shown during the night, so theres plenty of space on the channels. kiwi
Last season as we don't usually get it live we bought it from speedwaygp.com and watch it live on internet about 4pounds i think.

Seems logical from their perspective.

What was (is) the problem with speedway on red button. It is, to all intents and purposes, just another sports channel, the same as Sky Sports 1,2,3, and 4. It is available to everyone subscribing to Sky with all the same features as the other sport channels, i.e. the facility to record. As regards showing it live at 4AM, that will just result in most viewers recording it for later viewing, a trend not best suited to selling premium advertising space. I would expect, depending on their other comittments that morning that Sky will show it "as live" approx mid morning, 9AM ish

It's impossible to record a red button showing.
Cj69
Iv recorded on red button, usually its a case of pressing record on the time and channel the speedway would be on and you get the option of what to record.
A ORLOV
The other problem with 4 am is that the pub will not be open, as a lot of people do not have or want SKY, thats why a rerun at about 7pm is probably a good idea, just have to not view this forum during the day. Not sure you need worry about 'during the day.' Clocks go back one hour in NZ on April 1st and forward in the UK on March 25th. GP starts at 4pm local time, which is 4am in the UK. If Sky start at 7am (as is likely) the meeting will just be finishing.

What I'm talking about is the (albeit rare) situation where a channel over-runs it's slot and they are forced to put the rest on a red button showing. If you're not in and watching to physically record it, you've missed the end of a meeting. It has happened to me before.
severnsider
Iv recorded on red button, usually its a case of pressing record on the time and channel the speedway would be on and you get the option of what to record. As a rugby fan as well as speedway it was possible during the recent European Cup matches to record the red button in advance. Sky were showing two matches at the same time and when you chose the program to record you were shown a list of the two games and could pick the one you wanted.
