marcel
was thinking since there is now a GP outside of europe that a American gp should of been on the calender this year, cant help but feel that with greg being world champion that a gp there could really have been sold to the people and also the fact that Monster Energy has been very strongly rumoured to be a title sponsor of speedway gp this season, anyone who is in the know knows that anything Monster sponsor seems to bring in the crowds regardless...i just think its a big missed opurtunity as greg is not going be riding forever and going to a US gp as reigning world champ would be a major boost and sadly once greg leaves the gp scene i cant see another american in it for a hell of a long time sadly. The americans know how to put on a show and its cheaper and more direct for riders/fans to get to i think with all things in mind it would of got a US gp running and established maybe for years to come
SteveEvans
I would obviously agree a US GP would be very well timed this year! Though its down the line, the American Motorcyclist Assocation has appointed a new Speedway Advisory Committee. The Committee has 6 members (including Billy Hamill and Josh Larsen) and each member of it has a proven record in getting things done. The first order of business is FIM Events 2012 and our National Series. I'm sure a GP would be on the agenda at some point - of course there are no FIM sized tracks and / or FIM level facilities at any of our regular tracks so a one off venue would need to be found - personally I like the Home Depot Center (home of the LA Galaxy) as it is a newish facility and at 28,000 capacity it would not look empty if the crowd was something like 15,000. Sandie
Hmm - only if I can have seats as good as those I had last time I was there!!! And if you promise Beckham will be guest of honour and Victoria can be the pre-meeting entertainment! LOL
