stratton
i think i may have the Kings Lynn pride of The East..but it wil take some digging out!!! He murdered Nielsen and co that day didnt go,makes you think how many titles he should of won.The control board and [that liar Eglese have alot to answer for] went to that British Final thinking he would ride never totally reduced the ban was gutted that day. That decision would never be aloud now anyway great that Mike is still in speedway and i would like him to be considered for the England maybe him / Louis partnership. Grachan
I recall Michael Lee having the temerity to make a complete mug of Crumpy round the Abbey by not only beating him easily in the Golden Helmet but pulling wheelies down the straights at the same time. Could well have been 1983.

Remember Grachan it was in 83 Lee at his best in my opinion was the best rider in the world in 83 to do that to Crumpy took some doing.Went to Norden thinking Lee would win it, had rode at Halifax totally destroyed Carter in the helmet and the meeting was in great form..As we know Muller was good on the day conditions to suit him and his aquipment was super fast Egon was top class anyway and deserved it on the day. Was going to make a similar comment. For a spell during the summer of 1983 Michael Lee was beating everyone everywhere and clocking up fastest times of the season at different tracks. Comfortably beating Phil Crump at Blunsdon and Kenny Carter at Halifax demonstrate just how dominant he was at that time. Had the World Final been at any other track then it would most probably have been Lee or Hans Nielsen that walked away with the title. Frustrates the hell out of me to think the board/ and Eglese finished Mike,s career.Only aged 25/26 he was up there certainly in the top 5 at the time that performance at blunsdon was awesome to beat Phil .He is certainly when on his game the quickest rider i ever see.
