vog
I think that is precisely what should be done. It is unreasonable to suggest that the double up clubs run 14 home meetings so a competition for stand alone teams allows them to have some meaningful meetings towards the end of the year. Or even the start? End of the year is generally reserved for play-offs, but run this at the beginning of the year, then move into the league in around May time. berniev123
Is this not a situation where the 2012 NL stand alone clubs can now dictate what happens and the NL becomes a FULL LEAGUE in its own right? Same rules/pay/etc that the NL would enforce and the then the other three are no more than a glorified ML/NL outfit where perhaps they belong........at least a natural evolution for a TRUE 3rd Division below the PL WITHOUT the EL/PL costs? So the league champs enter the ML/NL!!! End of the day,you have to different type of teams, and both need each other as if they wernt together, both groups wouldnt survive Maybe a mini competion should develop called the "canthackitintheprem" cup, winner gets the rejects cup,!!! I can just see Mr Vasey showing of the silverwhere in the local conservative club!!!!
greyhoundp
Remember The Heathens Chairman has the ear of some high up people at the BSPA, so for them to suggest NL Teams have, A fixtures against all teams, and B fixtures against SOME Teams, it must have been spoken about at the pre agm. It is an idea that is a complete joke, and one that i am wholeheartedly against. Much better that we have a meaningful early season competition such as a National Trophy ridden on a league format, for say the first month of the season for Clubs that do want to enter, such as probably Stoke, Mildenhall, The Heathens, Buxton, and maybe Rye House, i didnt put IOW in there b,cuz the main holiday season is not at that time, Then we could have a play off final double leg for the Trophy if that was what was wanted. I think people may be jumping to conclusions here. OK, it does say that on the Heathens website, but why are people presuming that this idea is the brainchild of the Dudley Chairman? This was a posting after one of the Heathens supporters made the comment that 7 home NL fixtures was not enough. All it says is that we should expect 8 NL teams with a possible 10 NL home fixtures and more will be announced after the AGM. At the end of the day, all that is wanted by all "stand alone" clubs supporters (or so I would imagine) is enough meaningul matches to feed our apetite.
