If I make it to Blunsdon will still get you a beer Sidney-btw anyone know the oldest rider to make a first time appearance-one vote for Henny Kroeze so far!!

Hang on Bob; didn't we say a few weeks ago that Goochy was 37 when he made his World Final debut? That would make him two years older than Henny, who was born in 1952. Of course, he also qualfied as reserve for Norden in 1983...

Oh i could quite imagine it Norbold. The GPs are full of old guys.Having read some of Parsloes posts it is quite obvious that the modern day World Title is contested by rider much much older than in previous decades. In fact i am led to believe by Parsloes that the old one day World Finals were contested by teenagers and riders in their twenties mainly with a few guys around the early 30s.I think at about 33 or 34 in those days you were given a bobble hat and put out to pasture :P

Stop it

Post-war, there were a lot of older riders about.

For starters, I believe Vic Duggan made his World Final debut (indeed only appearance) in 1950 at the age of 39.

Anyone older than him?

All the best

Rob
