Rye House Raiders 2012

And you will be there every meeting to support them Parsloes of course......?? It is noticable that most on here supporting going with 3 rookies are not regular Rye supporters..mmm,,makes it easier for other teams ..

Er, and what other team do you suggest I'm hoping it will be 'easier' for..?!

The only NL side I do have a connection with (write in their prog.: but 200 iles away so rarely get there!) is Stoke... And funny enuf they too are to have three 'rookie' three-pointers in their line up!! Which as a concept for the Potters I too entirely endorse!!

Surely you mean 2 "rookie" 3 pointers. Ben Reade is hardly a rookie.

With the points gobbled up by the 4 heat leaders they have at Stoke they had no choice..that can not be said of Rye house Lee Strudwick was a heat leader they want to replace him with a 3 pointer..what??? .......The second part of my previous post was not directed specifically at you Parsloes,, it is well known you dont have any main loyalty to one particular club,,unless it is a defunct one.... and nothing wrong in that ,,i to have great memories of the Rayleigh Rockets dating as far back as the early 50s......

This is something about young Tom and his exploits as an Enduro rider... Considering the success of some other cross-overs in recent years, Braddock may very well be a rider to watch in 2012!

That's a hell of a weak side in my opinion... I hope it doesn't effect the gates too much. Lowering the admission to a tenner was a good move though... Fair play to Len for giving youngsters a chance to try their luck and progress, but I'm not sure this is the way to go though. Perhaps a few years ago when the CL was set up as a training league, but these days the NL seems to a step or two above that... Wish the guys all the best. It'll be interesting to see how they progress :t:

Chessell and Lee are in their 20s so hardly youngsters,,know nothing about braddock but it is hard to see how any of them can replace Lee Strudwick at this moment in time..so on paper the team has indeed been weakend...How ever Luke Chessel can gate and if he can master the track can still improve,,Have been impressed with Nick Lee at practices,, so who knows maybe the gap to the points limit can be made up as the season progresses,,I dont however expect this side to make the play offs ,,And unless they click early as a team i can see a further decline in attendences..

What bemuses me is that a number of RH folk have in successive years come on here to give us 'good excuses' why in the season about to then begin, they're NOT going to watch the third tier side. First it was (and this WAS spurious) the change of nickname to Cobras. "I'm not going as long as they're called Cobras. Bring back the Raiders nickname".

Then last term it was the use of the Hackney name. "I'm not going because I never used to support Hackney".

This time it's over the partial team policy. "I'm not going coz they're, er, selecting some rookies/juniors".

Tbh if people don't want to go, don't go...: but leave it with the daft 'reasons'.

And here's the latest:

Stayed to see the first heat of the second half out of curiosity. If that's the standard of the Raiders this year then I'll be voting with my wallet and find something else to entertain myself...

ONE heat of second half racing in the first meeting of the season, when everyone's finding their feet and this is is the snap conclusion...!

My, oh my - one has sometimes to wonder why Uncle Len bothers!!!

My money, my choice, my right to post whatever I desire as long as it doesn't insult or offend... How many Raiders meetings are you pitching up to?

Regular Rye House fans have every right to complain about a very weak team on paper ,,And to vote with their feet if they so desire..I personally will support the team and my grandson Ben Morley... but i have more reason than most....and can understand why they are not over enthusiastic....... When you go in the pits with your grandson, what do these "weak " riders think of you?? i think only last year when young Ben was handed his chance in the first team, folk complained about a weak team

"give them a chance" you said!!!

Maybe you should give these youngsters a chance to instead of pulling the team down all the time

If they were youngster,s id agree with you, but they are not. !!. And yes we took stick last year with Ben but he was 17 riding at a higher level ..No comparison... I am primarily concirned about attendences ,no fans , no National league at Rye.. I.have nothing personal against any rider what ever the level ..Will you be coming down reguarly to swell the numbers ....?? Edited by waco
