MrMungo
Sure you are correct there Vog, but with your first meeting next saturday time is running out. Danny Stoneman quite impressed me at Mildenhall last season, looked like he could improve given time, maybe he could be one option I only saw him once last season - got a double figure score at Scunthorpe! Or pretty close to it at least. Looked Dudley's best rider on the night. Definitely think he's worthy of a place in the NL.
Baldy
This situation is going to place a shed full of pressure on to young Ben. I would think that he will take one of the reserve berths with the one of the lads and the second being hidden in the number 2 slot. Ben will then be taking at least six rides every week, draining on energy and machinery; so I hope both are up to scratch. Looks like Dan and Ross have been around the seen for a while without showing a great deal; maybe this Tom Woolley (how old is he) and Dan would be the best bet. One thing that Stoke have to be careful of is putting two riders in who have no real chance of scoring unless someone else falls off or has eng fail as the public will no put up with that. I'm all for seeing lads develope but the two who finished after Oliver don't seem to have been developing in the last few years. Interesting few days ahead. Conor went to hospital with a suspected broken ankle but x rays revealed no breaks just severe sprain
teddy2706
Dan Berwick rode for Stoke at Lakeside last Good Friday afternoon against Hackney Hawks in place of Ben Reade. He scored one point, falling later and hurting himself. He was signed out of the meeting as unfit, but appeared that same night at Oxford Stadium in a Dirt Riders meeting and won it. Tim Nobes rode for Stoke at Mildenhall and fell very heavily, suffering a nasty, painful injury. He re-mounted and finished the race. This demonstrates how hard speedway and grasstrack riders are. If these two were on my shopping list for riders, I would have no hesitation which one to choose for my team however.

berniev123
Just seen that Adam Mckinna has signed for Stoke has one of the riders Stoke already signed dropped out? Surely they cant fit. Birks, Worrall, Atkin, Mckinna and Pickard all in? Their averages work out at 37.52 so one of Birks, Worrall, Atkin or Pickard must have dropped out or are they gonna take in turns to ride with Birks and Worrall also having PL Duties? If you add the 7 riders averages that are on the BSPA web site......they add up to over 43! So, I assume that they have to drop one of the big guns and bring in a rider of very lower average to comply with the 40 point ruling in the 2012 NL. Correct me if I am wrong someone? If not, all the other seven teams are nearly 4 points plus BEHIND Stoke's combined team average! Edited March 27, 2012 by berniev123
Neil H
Bernie, you aren't wrong. I think that McKinna is signed as cover for the Potters first few meetings (riders missing to ride in the PL). One rider still to be announced. builderbob
you cant sign a rider just to fit in willy nilly thats a squad system which isnt allowed

Correct me if I am wrong, but squads are not allowed in 2012 in the NL, so one of the big guns would have to go then the team redeclared with Adam in it then when the PL rider is put into the side it would have to be redeclared again. I assume it is Worrall or Birks as they are going like express trains in the PL at Newcastle and Scunny at the moment. Any way what ever happens here's to a good season for all 8 teams and come the end of the season I hope the trophies are spread around again like 2011! Parsloes 1928 nearly
Anyone got any info on Dan ? Reigning British Dirttrack Champion. From Medway in Kent. Appeared at Wimbledon's 2003 P&P Day but then stuck with Grasstrack until riding for home county club Sittingbourne in 2008. Then rode for IoW and Plymouth. A fair bit of experience and plenty to offer.

deathbymilkfloat
what went wrong between dan stoneman and the potters, one day on his facebook he announced he had signed for them, then the next day negotiations had broke down,in my opinion stoke have missed out on a good 3 pointer there, and he is more than capable of getting his average up to around the 5 mark. Roger MARTIN
I would give the last spot to Danny, the lad has NL experience, that would sway it for me and i think the track at Stoke would suit Danny.
