Changes In Uem Meetings

Recommended Posts

Well in 2012 the UEM is going to chance a couple things in their European Championship meetings....

They are cutting down the number of grasstrack meetings, which is a real shame because most grasstrack UEM meetings are getting more spectators then the speedway meetings. So only 2 qualifiers at the Grasstrack Solo en there is only 1 qualifier at the sidecars (6 sidecars are qualified automaticly for the final).

The European Speedway championship is changing drasticly. In 2012 there are 3 Semi finals, 1 Challenge meeting and 4 Finals... does anybody know more about this?

Last big change is that the age limit for the Juniors is changing to 21 instead of 19.

In European Speedway Championship top 8 from Challenge will qualify for finals's series. 3 places will go for this year medalists, 4 places will be nominated by UEM and 1 place (+ 2 track reserves) will be nominated by organizing federation.

Not sure about the FIM calendar. Our federation received it last week and from that email it appears that the calendar has been finished.

I was told the UEM calendar is awaiting the confirmation from the UEM management committee, which is supposed to happen next week. After that, the press release including the calendar will be issued.

We moved the AGM in Finland by a month after we had heard the FIM CCP had it's first calendar meeting in early October or what ever. Also I was told that the UEM would finalize their calendar on the first weekend of November... Hasn't quite worked out as planned... Got to just wait...

Yes, the UEM track racing committee had it's meeting on November 5th in Denmark where the calendar was supposed to be finalized. But it seems they had some last minute cancellations and they are trying to find new organizers...
