Gp Qualifier Berwick 16/6

Recommended Posts

Hi, thinking of making the trip up to Berwick for this one. Not sure what he weather forecast will be for the weekend, but not expecting any great improvement. I've looked on the various websites but can't see any mention of when the meeting will be re-run if rained off. Is anyone aware of when it might be?

Met Office forecast at the moment is for a mainly dry cloudy cool week. Best keep an eye on this link as the week progresses

There have been applications to the council about permission for adhoc rain-off reruns of meetings but I haven't read anything locally about the final outcome, though I believe the Council were recommending the changes.

Thanks for the replies. Think it will be a week of watching the weather - again!

The forecast for Berwick is decent, mostly cloudy all week but there is no significant rain fall forecast.Dont see anything weatherwise that will affect this saturdays meeting.

Promotion have been working at Shielfield all week, both on track and in polishing up an already-smart stadium.

Extra turnstiles will be opened on back straight to help get folk in. Coaches will be parked in special auxilliary area behind stadium, not to be taken into main car-park.

Huge buzz in area about the meeting now, especially since good piece broadcast on Look North (BBC1) last night at 6.30, with great shots of stadium yesterday, plus bright interview stuff.

All we need is the weather to hold up for three short hours on Saturday evening!

That minibus of people coming up will be thankful they can park the bus and that there will be no queues as they fight the 700 other people to get in!

putting covers on the bends is a great idea, but with the weather forcast for rain it might put a lot of fans off going to this meeting which would be a great shame after all the hard work that has been put in by the promotion to get this meeting lets hope the weather is not too bad and the fans turn up in great numbers and show their support to the berwick promotion

The Ceilidh being staged after the meeting on Saturday will now be confined to the Function Suite at the Black and Gold. The public bar WILL be open to allcomers. Remaining Ceilidh tickets will be on sale at Track Shop during practice and meeting.

With some rain forecast over the next 36 hours, the Berwick staff have placed covers on the bends to deflect rain onto the infield. John Anderson would like to put on record the club's thanks to all the volunteers who made this major operation possible.
