What was different about the last four heats?

The normal 20 heat format would have had it:

37 (17) 1-8-15-10 or Riss-Doncaster-Shirra-Nielsen

38 (18) 9-2-7-16 or Kasper-Ermolenko-Jonsson-Cook

39 (19) 3-12-13-6 or Matousek-Gundersen-Morton-Jankowski

40 (20) 5-14-11-4 or Nilsen-Kroeze-Cross-Pedersen

So, although the same riders compete against each other for their 5th rides, they aer jumbled. 38/39 in same order but different helmet order (apart from 39!), and 37/40 transposed and again different helmet order (apart from 40!).

Neil, just checked my programme and the heat format for the second day is completely different for all the heats (21-40). Riders kept the same numbers for both days - for instance, Hans Nielsen was No. 2 and Erik Gundersen was No. 13.

All the best

I had a vague recollectoin that they kept the same numbers.

I found a 40 heat format of which the second 20 go like this:

21 3-6-8-10

22 4-12-16-15

23 2-1-14-13

24 5-7-11-9

25 9-3-4-14

26 7-2-6-16

27 1-5-12-8

28 10-15-13-11

29 16-11-3-1

30 13-4-5-6

31 8-14-15-7

32 12-10-9-2

33 3-13-7-12

34 6-9-1-15

35 11-8-2-4

36 14-16-10-5

37 4-7-1-10

38 12-14-6-11

39 8-13-9-16

40 15-5-2-3

Is this what was used?

Cheers

Neil

Neil, that's the one.

It's also the format that has been used in Ice Racing for many years.

All the best

Rob
