Any news or gossip locally where the missing millions have gone in Eskilstuna?

 

Most people in Eskilstuna likely doesn't even know who Smederna are so there aren't much gossip around the city.

Eskilstuna have about 100'000 inhabitants maybe 10% knows of Smederna and follow scores and etc but it's only 25-30% of

them 10% who show up for meetings.

 

I don't really know either. At the end of 2014 Smederna (club | föreningen) and Smederna Speedway AB (AB ~ Ltd) had a combined result of + 260kSEK.

Last winter the profit was suddenly a large loss and now they tell us that they are back to a large profit (about 1,2MSEK) despite that Smederna

had a really poor attendance average last season. Sure the team rode like rookies but still.

 

As for Indianerna, well a 4MSEK debt. How is it even theoretically possible to achieve such thing?

Smederna will host one of the U21 qualification meetings. The meeting will be held on May 20th.

 

Smederna assumed the hosting of the meeting since original hosts Indianerna decided they no longer wanted/were able to host it.

Before I forget it, Tuesday June 6th is a public holiday which means that some meetings (may) start(s) earlier.

 

Smederna - Masarna will start at 17.00 but I am not sure if there are other meetings that also starts earlier.

 

 

Also round 7 Indianerna - Masarna and round 9 Masarna - Indianerna have been shifted so that it now is the opposite.

This was requested by Masarna since they did not want to have a home meeting the same week as the SM-finals.

Reports in the polish media that Eurosport have not yet reached a decision on whether they will continue to show the Swedish Elite league in 2017.

Indianerna have sent in the application at the distric court (Tingsrätten) for financial reconstruction. A decision is expected early next week.

I am not sure how that works technically. I think that even if some say no, the reconstruction can still be approved.

hi ghostwalker , have you any opinion either way on whether the swedish lge will be shown this year as it it way to quiet on the subject and i've enjoyed the coverage from the last few years and would miss it , even if it is delayed h/lights like last year.

To be honest I don't know. I think it is likely that it won't be shown, at least not on Eurosport. They didn't really seems to understand how league speedway

worked. That there is delays due to weather, broken airfences, injured riders and etc and

You are right but pergaps Speedway could work with TV to make sure we get on TV. Meetings take too long. 15 heats which is only 15-18 minutes of racing should take no longer than 90 minutes from end to end.

I think that the Swedish broadcaster C more have no problem filling the gaps in a 2 hours meeting with interviews,

intra discussions between commentators and the track side studio people, guests as well as feature stories.

 

The issue is the for ESP these gaps are filled with a fixed feed where the camera just overlooks the track.

 

So C more might want to have the 2 hour meeting as it is while ESP want to have it shorter.
