Ghostwalker
Smederna have signed Charlie Gjedde as a replacement for Rasmus Eklöf. Rasmus is injured and is not expected to be back until at the end of the season. http://ekuriren.se/sport/speedway/1.1489639-smederna-varvar-gjedde Edited July 10, 2012 by Ghostwalker
racers and royals
Hi Ghostwalker any news on whether Valsarna can carry on racing ?
Ghostwalker
R.a.r. see my reply on the previous page. In addition to that they will have the annual "enkronasmatch". Which means that all sponsors and regular persons who have signed up for it. will pay 1kr for each spectator that attends The meeting on Tuesday. Fingers crossed for sunny weather and a large crowd. Ghostwalker
Alex Edberg is injured and will miss the rest of the season. http://ekuriren.se/s...-drabbade-alex- For Hammarby this means that they will only have one guest rider available for the rest of the season since it is not allowed to change gust riders in the middle of the season. The exception is if a rider retires from speedway. It also means that Dennis Andersson is the sole U21 rider at Hammarby and if he cannot ride in a meeting Hammarby won't be able to field a complete team and i think that they will not be allowed to race. Edit, my mistake, Hammarby do have another U21 rider. Edited July 17, 2012 by Ghostwalker

That is pretty stupid really. They should definitely be able to sign a replacement in those circumstances!
Ghostwalker
well Jonesy i think the guest rider rule is ok as it is. Obviously its the teams own choice to put a U21 rider as guestrider, which could make them vulnerable to injuries on that rider. The teams knows the rules when they sign riders, Anyway i did miss that Hammarby also have a third U21 rider, Hyll so they should be ok. They could also use R/R for Dennis. krompa
Ghost, 2 things I am not so sure about, in Elitserien. Heat 15 used to be top scorers nominated heat but there are some meetings where top scorer is not in heat 15. Also, do bonus points count when you count who may ride in last heat? And what about gates in heat 15? Is it always home 1&3?

And what about gates in heat 15? Is it always home 1&3? rules says that the team manager can choose two of the three best scorers for heat 15. Not sure about the bonus point as bp's officially doesn't exist. However i do think bp's are taken into account by team managers occasionally. Gate positions are chosen by the home team. Either 1&3 or 2&4.
Ghostwalker
David Ruud will be out for 6-8 weeks as a result of last night's crash. http://m.sverigesradio.se/artikel/5197551?programId=179&gruppId=7514

manchesterpaul
Not sure about the bonus point as bp's officially doesn't exist. However i do think bp's are taken into account by team managers occasionally. If this is the case are the Swedish Leagues the only ones in the world (history?) of speedway not to use bonus points? It triggers three questions, 1. If they don't apply one presumes that a rider finishing behind his team mate obviously gets paid less. 2. Does that therefore not automatically promote risky racing rivalry in a heat with riders from the same team doing their utmost to cut each other off etc. and get paid more, and in doing so endangering a safe heat advantage to one where an opponent can take advantage of a battle between team mates? 3. I see the averages don't include them but do they count in reality as in the rest of the sport by teams 'paying' bonus points?
Ghostwalker
MP, i would say most teams uses the third option but bonus points are not shown or used officially in scores and averages,

Ghostwalker
Valsarna will be able to finish the season. The meeting against Indianerna three days ago, brought in over 1 million kronor. (£93'000). There is still 6-700'000 kronor needed to be free from the red figures. http://nwt.se/sport/...icle1143149.ece Edited July 28, 2012 by Ghostwalker

Dave Goddard
Tonight's TV match is a top of the table clash between ElitVetlanda and Dackarna - tune in via Premier Sports at 6.10pm. Manchesterpaul once again very kindly has a racecard available (in the post below mine as I fudged up the link!)
