SarahLapworth
Darcy Ward was a foregone conclusion, Nicki Pedersen as a 3 time champ is an automatic choice, Chris Harris as everyone says is the "token Brit" although I think he has really got to pull his finger out next year to justify it. I am a little suprised that Lindgren has been given a wild card though. He is a top rider don't get me wrong but he is still young and has plenty of time to prove himself at this level and qualify in his own right. I would have presumed BSI would have brought in another new blood to the series along with Darcy. Hancock, Crump and Gollob only have another couple of years left at this level so the promoters need to be looking towards the future. On the subject of wild cards who's gonna get the pick for the New Zealand GP?? I hate to be ignorant but I can't think of any Kiwi's that would give any real challenge to the regular 15 unless Ivan Mauger is making a comeback! bennyr
Maybe troy batcholar or cam Woodward or Rory schlien should get the new Zealand wild card. But I think Ricky wells is kiwi born
The Little Un
I would scrap GP Qualifiers and base it on averages across Europe during the season. I would like that especially if they based it on the total of one third of their averages in Britain, Poland and Sweden. So if they average six in Poland but nine in Britain and Sweden they would be left with an average of eight.
home straight
So what if they only ride on two out of three leagues?
fullbore
I would of,he is a class exciting rider who came third in the last completed gp,certainly deserves it more than Harris Remind me who came second ahead of him? PHILIPRISING
Ricky Wells? In a GP? I'd rather they put Bruce Cribb in. SPOKE to Larry Ross today ... but then again he is my brother-in-law!
ImpartialOne
Remind me who came second ahead of him? Niamh Was it that one who was seeded in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 and has only won one GP in fifty five attempts?

Humphrey Appleby
So what if they only ride on two out of three leagues? Base it on the best 2 out of 3, or something like that.
ImpartialOne
Lingren has won how many? Niamh He doesn't deserve to be there either. The fact Lindgren hasn't won one doesn't strengthen Harris' case. Edited October 11, 2011 by ImpartialOne
manchesterpaul
ooh the internet police are going to be all over this being in the wrong section! Whilst a lot of threads can be hard to decide what section they should be put in, it absolutely beggars belief that this topic has been started in the Elite League section. For goodness sake look at the title of the thread '2012 GP Wildcards Announced' should that not give a clue as to the correct forum. It certainly is not of being finicky either, it's annoying when following a topic to have to visit more than one section. Amazingly, as was bound to happen, there have already been duplicate posts made in the running thread in the GP section. There is, at this moment in time, a running 10 page thread on the topic http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=67053 I knew it Hee! Hee! Hee!. Well all i can say in response is......was i right or wrong? Was the thread rightfully moved? Like i said i wasn't nitpicking, we've all made posts in the wrong section many times, but with a topic this specific well come on now taking the proverbial a little? The arguments mentioned on Sky last night made it sound as if Darcy Ward would be unlikely to accept an invitation which in my eyes is a great shame indeed. It would appear he will lose out on far superior earnings if he opts for the Grand Prix series in preference to the Polish League. Maybe the SGP series for the world's best riders should make the payments and prize money for them the best in the world? mdmc82
Im really glad to see harris get the wild card, he has had trouble with his bikes this year but if you look at his riding last year and over the last couple of meetings he deserves the chance to prove himself again

Did I say it shouldn't be? No. I just like laughing at people who take it upon themselves to police the internet. Real heroes of our time. The fact you think you've won some kind of victory because it was moved speaks volumes. Anyway chief, don't let me stop you catching those naughty internet offenders, I hear on the grapevine someone somewhere is planning on starting a a thread about golf in the GP section, best get it covered big guy. NeilWatson
He is in it because he done the qualifers and qualified. He therefore has more right than any of the 4 names today That's spot on Chris

Mind I suspect that Bomber's GP budget is a fraction of some of his competitors, so perhaps instead of knocking him we should be sending him money so the he can compete on a level playing field with the rest of the GP riders. Hazzman
From a purely selfish view of wanting riders who give me a reason to watch the sport, I agree with all four wildcards. I just hope Ward keeps it up, he's worth my Sky subcription currently.
