June
Trouble is,if PL teams have to release rider for the NL they would never sign them in the first place, plus would rider want to miss out on the extra pay they get riding for there PL teams?I doubt it End of the day, riders who have stepped up is what the league is all about And you could argue that, the play off gives the chance to teams to win the league, who maybe, due to riders not being available due to PL teams, work or even exams in some cases. Scunny and Belle Vue for example this year have maybe never raced a meeting at full strenght but have made it to the play offs, now, they can go for it I understand and agree with this and thats exactly why I posted. A PL reserve would probably score many more points in the NL than he would in the PL. would he still be so much out of pocket? Nothing can be done about riders who get injured and those who have exams but with the system we have now are we giving the fans a " Play Off " with depleted sides ? Plus I'm sure all the youngsters want to win this competion, are they getting a fair chance, the likes of Adam and Stefan ( ever present ) must feel gutted when as many as 3 riders are missing from the team. This week at Poole people were turned away, the stadium packed. They fielded proper teams and that was a real Play off.
Backless
And if it had gone ahead last week, they would have been at full strength. Suck it up - it happens. For that matter, it's not as if the Saints have got this far with a full team - the last time Belle Vue visited the Scorpions were at Edinburgh, needed a guest … & pulled Richie Worrall from the Saints! June
I agree, that meeting Bell Vue was without Garrity and you loaned Greenwood, however it was still a good meeting depleted teams on both sides. Some excellent racing!Backless, normally I accept our team with riders short in league matches, thats the sacrifice we pay to see our youngsters progress, not a problem. I just want to see our kids win! no doubt you feel the same for your team. I will "suck-it-up" as you say, whatever team we go with I'll be there shouting them on! COME ON SAINTS! TMW
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you here. Surely it's up to the NL meeting promoters to come up with a suitable date which benefits both teams? They did and it pee'd it down Somerset vs Scunthorpe in itself suggest that riders are 'double booked' (for the want of a better phrase) and, along with Plymouth vs Newcastle was arranged weeks ago, so why should PL teams release riders for a 'lower-tier' match, when their own PL match was (re)arranged first? This has been re-arranged twice already due to rain off's Plus the fact that Scunthorpe can ride on any day of the week, suggests that an alternative date where riders aren't riding elsewhere, could be found, surely? The cut off date has already passed this is an extension there isn't an unlimited amount of time I also think you are being unfair to Kerr and other riders mentioned have you seen them ride????. How do you know they would devalue the product............ I do think the saints are worrying unduely and forgetting that BV are with out Becker and McKinna. I'm sure if the Saints were to win it would be a more worthy win if it were like for like team. As proved at Mildenhall when their win was a little diluted due to Stoke losing half the team in the first 4 hts Edited October 12, 2011 by TMW

As proved at Mildenhall when their win was a little diluted due to Stoke losing half the team in the first 4 hts Its a shame that Bekker and McKinna are injured, the latter rode really well last time at Scunny, but Bekker was poor when guesting, but dont forget Scunny are without Oliver and Irving, who is as a good a rider around the EWR as there is in this league

Rob B
Well don to Scunfield on going through to the final but very well done to the Colts only going out by 4 points without Mckinna & Bekker having to use the ridiculous 3.00 guest rule and getting 3+1 for the pair of them. TMW
Well don to Scunfield on going through to the final but very well done to the Colts only going out by 4 points without Mckinna & Bekker having to use the ridiculous 3.00 guest rule and getting 3+1 for the pair of them. They put up a good show and fought for every point. They have all ridden well all season Rob but not necessarily all at the same time covering for each other as a team though to get them to the SF and 4 points from the final, they were expected to get hammered last night. As Byron said last night they have had some rotten luck along the way and considering no one gave them a hope at the beggining of the season and one thing BV management can be proud of is thta they did it with the same 1-7 as they started with with Charlie wright covering for Kyle for a couple of weeks. They have done well. Well done Scunthorpe should make for an interesting final with Mildenhall. Anybody who says the NL is a second rate product fulll of wobblers should have been there last night cracking meeting. montie
A huge well done the the Mighty Saints on reaching the final,it doesnt seem 5 mins since i was watching most of that team trying to slide a bike for the first time on wet tracks during the winter AM meeting, now all sitting on 8 plus averages and in the NL final Superb effort by the colts last night, picked up the vital points and kept it close,Howarth was very impresive right through the meeting, his race in heat 13 with the hard charging Birks was as good as you will see Quite why Garity wanted to fight with a lady at the pit gate after heat 15 is beyond me,he really is such a talent but lets himself down with situations like that. On to a tough meeting now against the Fentigers!!!

June
A huge well done to both teams who gave us a brilliant meeting, tooth and nail stuff all the way through the match. By releasing Stevie and Richie ( thanks for that ) we had our proper play off. Shame some of the riders missed out through injury, I would have liked to see Byron riding, as it was good to see Scott and Kyle back on the EWR track again. Congratulations Saints.....You have done us proud to have come so far in such a short time. may it continue and you win the final. GOOD LUCK! Just a mention for Graham & Co. the track was good and fast ( heat times don't lie ) No falls WELL DONE!
