Â Hi Jayne, Â I think you may be feeling a little sensitive today as from the outside world it seems to be a nice day. I know it is down in South Warwickshire but that is miles and miles away. I never read anything in Greyhounds post that was a dig at Buxton, just a disappointment that weather has won again. Â It would have been a great meeting and one we were all looking forward to but, we all know the sort of weather you can get up there and you are so very very exposed. We are of course pleased that Leicester have stepped in to give the fans a chance to see this American style of speedway but would have loved the meet to have been at a track most of the boys have never been to before. Â Have a glass of wine and all will feel better in the morning - that's my plan at any rate. Take care and see you next season I hope. Jayne Posted October 9, 2011 Report Share Posted October 9, 2011 I just think supporters are very quick to judge tracks that call meetings off. We were also looking forward to the meting today which would have been our final meeting of the season. A lot of work has gone in to advertising the meeting in the Buxton area with Zoe our press officer generating a lot of interest with the local radio station. Also a lot of work has gone into producing the programmes from a number of people and it all turned out to be for nothing. We made an early decision based on the weather we had over the last few days and the forecast for today to save people travelling unneccessarily. The riders on the team are fully made aware before we come over about rain offs. Surely rain offs go with the sport, some you win some you dont, at this time of year its a lotto, I had 10 meeting lined up between now and the end of October, expect to get to about six of them , Lost one last night at Stoke, Leicester the next one on Friday, hope its on and they re-arrange the Stoke meeting for next week or its rip off speedway at the ELRC. greyhoundp Posted October 9, 2011 Report Share Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) Hey, Hey, where did i put any criticism in my post ??.  I merely pointed out that todays meeting had been lost and it hits the Tourists doubly hard in that obviously they are on a tight schedule.  I was mostly complimenting Leicester on trying to help out by putting on another fixture at short notice.  I always enjoy my annual visit up to Buxton 3 times last year, on the last occasion i brought four other fans non speedway fans at that , today would have been this years visit, i couldnt get up earlier this season,due to working down in Poole.  I dont feel i need to regret any remark i made, but Jayne on the other hand  So yes i understand Jaynes frustration, but dont take a hit at supporters, especially when they try to help out in a small way by taking the time to visit a Track that needs it.  Thanks Sandie for not reading whats not there Edited October 10, 2011 by greyhoundp Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
