iris123
If I choose to use a well known colloquialism I expect it to remain as it was written Niamh I for one am glad the forum filter changed it,as i would have no idea what "frabury" meant. So which one are you? An old person or the other one?

Looking back over the last couple of pages: You're changing what you're saying! Niamh What you quoted is not what I said. Niamh Even the link got edited by someone! Niamh So now that's macca56, me and a mod who have apparently changed things around you. There is one common element in all this though. Canyerguesswaddidisyet? fullbore
Sure, what I wrote has been changed, and whoever did it doesn't have the common decency to own up. Now given that what people write can be changed how can we trust that what anyone appears to have said is what they actually wrote? Niamh

The White Knight
Pretty easy queston to answer ,,the moment the Gp replaced the old system it became more important to make money than it to be a world championship event ..the last thing they want is riders who won't sell tickets They also do this on where he gp's are held sure it great to have 3 gp's in Poland as it makes money but surely in a so called world championship event that is unfair . How VERY, VERY true.
HenryW
Sure, what I wrote has been changed, and whoever did it doesn't have the common decency to own up. No-one did it. It's an automatic filter to remove undesired words from the forum. Any use of the blacklisted words will be replaced before the post appears. You can see this in action if you use the preview option before adding your post. Edited October 3, 2011 by HenryW

ImpartialOne
Automatic bowlderisation, how childish! Niamh Why is it childish? The swear filter is there for a reason, to keep the forum free from swear words. Did you really expect the word you typed to be accepted? Admittedly I think the replacement word is, well, rubbish. I can think of better words that would be more relevant and acceptable, but certainly there is nothing childish about the swear filter automatically changing a swear word to something more acceptable. fullbore
Yes I expect what I type to be what is posted. This is a grown up forum so I'm surprised that you suggest that there are so many sensitive walllflowers that automatic bowlderisation is deemed a good idea. Just imagine I'd used a well known phrare for get your act together, now the bowlderisation engine would have changes the message to get your rubbish together and totally changed what was said. The sooner the auto nanny is killed the better. Niamh

Just imagine I'd used a well known phrare for get your act together, now the bowlderisation engine would have changes the message to get your rubbish together and totally changed what was said. The sooner the auto nanny is killed the better. Niamh But "get your act together" works perfectly well without the swearing. I use all kinds of bad language in the real world but I accept that I can't use it around certain people and in certain situations. The difference is that when I'm having a private conversation with my mates I know it isn't going to offend anyone but if I were in earshot of people who might be offended I tone it down. When you post on a public forum it isn't private and is viewable by anyone and so discretion needs to be used as much as possible. Now that you are aware that certain words will be changed by the swear filter surely, whether you agree with it or not, it is better to write "act" than a word you know will be changed and will make no sense? If you think that's bad, watch this example (and this one I think is excessive): Swindon did very well to ###### a draw at Poole. It was the fact that "bowlderisation" is NOT correct it should be bowdleris/zation. I may be being a tad pedantic - but - a word like that deserves the correct spelling. Sorry. Yup a tad.Wouldn't pick someone up for getting the letters mixed up.I know i do i quite a lot.Just typing too fast. And one of my friends who i guess as he is a speedway star correspondent, knows how to spell words always seems to write "teh" instead of "the"....just typos. But because you used a z instead of an s i thought you were making a point about that Edited October 7, 2011 by iris123
