racers and royals
If the club hasn`t been sold yet and Bowden losing his licence, does this now mean that the BSPA now own the rights ??

torpointfanatic22
So given that Bowden doesn't own the land, the club has what 2 assets and now there is no promoters licence to be bought from him, what is there to 'sell'? Can the new consortium not just negotiate a new lease and buy a promoters licence directly from the BSPA giving Bowden what he deserves...nothing! On another note Todd Kurtz has posted on Facebook suggesting he has received his pay from Bowden finally, but it wasn't the right amount! (James Holder said similar surprise, surprise)! He should have sold ages ago now he will be like the Malletts no team, no stadium & no money The only assets that Bowden will still own is the mechanical plant, the fence, any buildings that he put there
greyhoundp
You know guys you need to be careful now, now is not the time to aim any vitreol at Mr Bowden he may just out of spite, do something similar to the Mallets, far better to negotiate for the items he actually owns, the most important being The Lease, but good luck with your endeavors. scaramanga
interesting thing for me here is if no takeover deal has allready taken place what does that mean for the future? also does bowden foerfit the bond that is put in place for the season ? its been said they only had 2 assetts so no real issue there i would imagine they were lower end riders with not much value to them maybe the potential new owners can start up with much less of a start up cost but it is a warning to all promotors for the future
Roger MARTIN
Bowden should of had his licence taken off him last year, by not doing that it gave him licence to do what he liked, we can say he was a joke has a promotor, but the people that run the sport must take some of the blame for not acting much sooner. crescent girl
Since Mr Bowden's licence has apparently been suspended, the current Plymouth promotion will surely be carrying on its business through the person of David Short? Since the tragedy of Tim Stone's death left Newport rudderless, the BSPA wisely insisted each club has at least two licensed promoters. Therefore David will no doubt be working with the BSPA to tidy up the Devils' season and in all probability be instrumental in handing over the reins to any incoming consortium, when the new lease is negotiated with the landlords. Barbie392
To everyone who has commented on the Plymouth thread over the last two days in regards to Mike's license being revoked you know who you are. I can confirm I personally spoke to the highest person at the BSPA and it was confirmed that Mike's license has not I repeat not been revoked I have consulted with Mike's solicitors and if these remarks and this slander/deformation of character continues then libel action will be taken against you. Devilforever
Babs get real, if we consulted a solicitor every time your Father did or said something degoratory against us speedway fans we would need a whole team of them. You might be happy to watch the family fighting amongst themselves on a Friday night and your Father canoodling with his girlfriend while his wife and daughters are there acceptable but I fortunately do not,it comes to something when the fans are more excited about the girlfriend and her husband being taken away in a police car for their own safety than the actual riding. It is admirable for you to stick up for your Father but I think your loyalty is sadly misplaced and thats why the fans are staying away in their droves Yes Bowden did bring speedway back to Plymouth but I think you can also say that Bowden destroyed speedway back at Plymouth, and please dont bother paying for a solicitor for anything I have posted here because these are all facts which can be admirably backed up!.

Moverley
Perhaps she's right in what she says. Friday's Herald carries an article that apparently quotes Alex Harkness as saying that Mike Bowden's licence to operate has not currently been revoked. Read it for yourselves. http://www.thisisply...tail/story.html Edited October 5, 2012 by Moverley
