Â I think its a case of what might have been . Barker, Ashworth & Glanz are all good signings, and Boxall isn't a bad one. Holder & Werner are very poor, though - I doubt if anyone would want them and there are much better options available, particularly to a club that probably gets the biggest attendances in the PL. Having said that, on the occasions I went to SBA last season I don't think any gate was under four figures, and that's almost certainly better than anyone else. The gate at the last match against Edinburgh was truly astonishing - pushing 2,000 for a nothing match on a cold October night - and the queue's outside at start time had to be seen to be believed. Â I am not sure that Werner & Holder's signings are for cost reasons. Whatever the case, I doubt that there are many at SBA celebrating their recruitment for next season. James Holder is a true team man, he will never be a top scorer but he gets the points when his team need him to perform as he did on several occasions during his spell at Somerset he was an excellent captain and was always there to help if required. In my opinion both Brent and James could be match winners  The thing is Brent Werner hasn't just retired once, he 's done it a number of times and the possibility of him returning to top form must be a remote one.  When putting a side together, its all about getting riders who are going to increase their averages, hit big points week in, week out or having youthful promise for future years. I can't see any of these applying to Holder or Werner and can certainly see other riders without team places to whom it could and who would fit the averages concerned. Jimmy is a good lad, but he also needs support and encouragement from both fans and management, the Somerset management looked after and encouraged jimmy well, as you know he was Captain of the Rebels. but If i had a fault with jimmy he's just that, to nice. Especially round Plymouth he's going to need to be a lot more aggresive out the starts, thats where i thought part of his problem at Somerset was. But he does have it in him. But bear in mind he was carrying injuries at the back end of the season, you have a fit jimmy, im not going to say he will pull up big tree's, but he will do ok for you. But he needs allround support.  Jerran is suprising me, when he rode for our Buccaneer side at Poole i said give him 2 years and he'l be riding EL.
