Roger MARTIN
I don't know what 'evey thing' is but if I did I would probably have an opnion on it. TMW i think you will have to start from page one if you want the reason why, it's a long story but if anyone thinks it's just the supporters that come on this site that are not happy with the goings on with the club they are very wrong, it's just the one's that come on voice there's on this site. TMW
It just seems every thread you go on on this forum people are shooting from the hip at promoters. I wouldn't blame them all to just jack it in.and say 'up yours' I certainly wouldn't have the where with all to do it and tend to respect anyone who does.

Great Central
if you need to know more get yourself on plymouth's facebook page and find from the bowden family themselves who is trying to bed who,who hasent been paid etc etc it makes for interesting reading far better than watching the jerry springer show I can't be bothered with Facebook but it sounds like a very sorry picture down there in Plymouth. I feel for all those great supporters down in the far west who have a difficult choice. Either support Plymouth with all its problems or totally miss out on speedway since there is nowhere else to go.
Halifaxtiger
It just seems every thread you go on on this forum people are shooting from the hip at promoters. I wouldn't blame them all to just jack it in.and say 'up yours' I certainly wouldn't have the where with all to do it and tend to respect anyone who does. Some deserve it more than others. Some hardly deserve it all. However a man who books 3 rooms for 15 people for an overnight stop deserves all he gets (and believe me that's a minor offence). Aside from bringing speedway back to Plymouth I have never heard a good word about Mike Bowden from anyone, anywhere. That's unique among BSPA members, and his worst critics are all from Devon. zlata prilba
taken from Birmingham Mail today Ben Barker: "‘I’ve finished top of the averages for two years now, and that’s not easy to do." 7 Nov 2012 08:25 Ben Barker wants to continue dual leagues participation Ben Barker Birmingham's Rider of the Year Ben Barker expects to be competing in both Elite and Premier Leagues again next season. Barker has successfully used the doubling-up regulations over the last two years to become one of the busiest riders in the sport, although it has given the Brummies some headaches when he has had to miss top-flight meetings. But the popular Cornishman insists being in the Elite League only would not give him enough meetings to continue his development as a rider. Barker said: “As I believe the rules are going to go, I’ll be able to double-up again next year and I need to do that because I’m not established in Europe. “It’s so hard to get out there into Poland, Sweden and Russia where the money is. ‘‘Once you get established there it’s not too bad but at the moment it’s hard work for me to get there. “So I’ve got to fill my calendar in England. ‘‘The more you race, the better you become and although I’m not against the best guys in the Premier League it’s still a tough league and I’ve just got to be racing my bike.” Barker has spent the last two Premier League seasons with Plymouth – whose future is uncertain after a proposed takeover reportedly fell through – but he has hinted he may well be on the move in any case following a troubled 2012 campaign in Devon. “It was disheartening because I go to a job and in the Premier League I do a very good job, and what I’m employed there to do,’’ Barker added. ‘I’ve finished top of the averages for two years now, and that’s not easy to do. “You go there feeling you want to give 100 per cent but you’re not being given anything from the backroom staff, they’re making it hard work for you. “The team manager (Lee Trigger) is a great guy, but other people there just made it hard. We would go to a meeting and never know what was going to happen. “It was a bit of a carry-on.’’ Edited November 8, 2012 by zlata prilba

I would like many who go on a friday would pay anything to see speedway in Plymouth, but you have to respect the person who runs it and back him, and i have up to this year, it was a dream seeing the team in the PL, but when you see what as been going on at the track on a friday week in week out you have to question yourself on how far are you willing to support such goings on, and thats when i stopped going, it hurts but you have to draw a line somewhere, and i'm not going to subject my grandson to that everyweek no matter how much i like something. Roger MARTIN
Looks like there may bo hope for speedway at the SBA according to the local paper today, it says however, there is still a chance that the four-man consortium interested in operating at the St Boniface Arena, could succeed with a takeover bid. Consortium spokesman Godfrey Spargo says, we made an offer to the governors of St Boniface College to purchase the land at the Arena, that offer was rejected on Friday, but the governors, who own the land, have now agreed to another meeting with us early this week for further discussions. It is thought that the governors might be prepared to consider extending the lease of the St Boniface Arena, whitch is due to expire in 2014. If that extention of the the lease is long enough, the consortium might then be in a position to conclude a deal with Bowden to take over the promotion of Plymouth Speedway. A major question, however is whether the necessary agreements can be reached in time for the BSPA annual meeting. Lets hope it can be sorted quickly for the sake of the speedway club. Villain
Fingers, Toes and everything crossed for Plymouth. Those Supporters DESERVE a Speedway Team. Let's just hope that common sense prevails. Indeed. The letters/emails of support sent to the college may have had some effect. Keep sending them in and keep the sport alive and thriving in Plymouth. barncooseboy
Please see www.plymouth-devils.co for the consortium statement I would like to thank everyone for their support especially over the past few weeks, we tried but are unable to reach agreement with people who have unrealistic views on land values, its worth the valuation not 10 times the valuation because they are a catholic school Edited November 15, 2012 by barncooseboy

At the end of the day they own the land if they want a certain price or don't want to sell it that is their perrogative.
