Tsunami
He also said the home promoter has to pay both teams wages but the visiting promoter .has to make up any shortfall in their wages over and above the basic rate.Surely if heat leaders second heat leaders and reserves were on the same sliding scale ie HL £80 SHL £60 RES £35 and every promoter paid the same money would that not help ? Only if those rates were lower, and a deal did not include things such as flights, accomodation, workshops, transport, etc. There has always been an 'exchange rate' for the home promoter to pay the visiting riders, with the visiting promotion paying the top up for their actual agreed pay rate. Over the season, of course, it does balance itself out.
wandersome
60 a point for Glanz?! Lol! Seems that it maybe Glanz taking Bowden for a ride!! I know of 3 or 4 2011 Newport Wasps riders who were on less and were banging in double figures most meetings!! And they were said to be overpaid! I heard at least one sub 6 point ex-newport second string without a team spot was asking £65 a point to join a premier club mid term this year. Not sure whether he got it elsewhere. Mick. I was just really trying to highlight the point that if a rider of that calibre can negociate that kind of deal ,speedway is in trouble IMO.Like Tsunami says there will be a standard that Promoters work from regarding visiting riders. All promotions will have to fork out different amount of money even for points depending on what various riders demands are. Then they have all the extras, flights, bikes, signing on ,accomodation ect.I think the time has come when Promoters have to get tough with rider demands or there wont be many viable tracks around.Ps You cant really blame the rider . Also interesting in this weeks Star regarding Ryan Fisher he sent Sheffield his Terms but never got a reply and I think most knowledgeable supporters can guess why. Cornish Cream
Yes all the best. Good luck to Godfrey, Peter,Seemond etc. Also would be great to see Plymouth resident Ivan Shears back involved in the sport. Is the 'etc' person Ray Purvis being the 4th person in the consortium? Look at where they finished as a result, put riders in the right posistions and they will do well. Pepe Franc Im not a fan of anyway but to put him at No1 was lunacy

Devilforever
Was told tonight that Bowden’s promoters license has been revoked Please say that Xmas has come early for hundreds of fans who have now stopped going and unwilling to put any more money into this money grabbing mans hands. His antiucs and those ofhis family leave a lot to be desired resulting in police being called to them and I am unwilling to let my sons be part of this sorry spectacle any more or having to hear the vile mouth tirade comning from the Bowden daughters and wife, we couldnt even escape it when we visited Somerset cos Bowden was there canoodling with his girlfriend! Pepe Franc Im not a fan of anyway but to put him at No1 was lunacy You don't seem to grasp that some Promoters are not going to bankrupt the club for the sake of riders demand,There are a lot of clubs in financial difficuties IMO.Machin has promoted long enough now to recognise paying over the odds ,unfortunately there are other Promotions who pay big money and are in difficulty. There will have to be big changes in the winter if all the clubs want to survive IMO.Fisher IMO is very expensive hence lack of offers like i said he is a good rider though
orderly
Cheque book speedway is not the answer and leads to clubs going under Look at the late Colin Hill at Exeter who never paid over the odds but all the riders got paid every week in the now famous “True Print” envelopes

I will not divulge my source but I think that I will tend to believe my source over you, and if it transpires that he still has it he will not keep it after the end of October because lets face it none of you are fit to run a bath never mind a Speedway Club
