Buttons
It seems Rune is suffering badly with his wrists and has been since April and they are getting worse, surely he should not ride to help them heal, and surely there could be a safety issue here as well if his wrists are that painful. mothorsen
Last GP was horrible to watch. And only 4+1 for Dackarna on tuesday. I hope he'll heal up nicely, and produce some class A speedway again. I know it's a longshot, but I'm hoping for a wildcard next year. The White Knight
I like Holta. Should have taken time out to allow his wrists to heal. He IS a gutsy Rider but with his wrists in the condition they are - he could end up hurting himself or someone else. I don't like the 'Picks' idea - but - if we have to have it I hope Holta will be back next year. Â He is an exciting Riuder to watch. Except for poor form on most of the riders resulting in a 14p loss against Valsarna. Dackarna's Rune Holta is considering to give up this season due to his injuries.  He says that the pain is to big and that he cant ride using technique that he is used to. The Doctors have told him that he will be fine but that he needs surgery and plenty of time to let it heal.  For Dackarna this mean that they have to find a replacement since they already have Pavlic injured. Although transfer windows have been scrapped, team are allowed to replace a longterm injured rider until that rider resumes his or hers competing.  http://www.racemcspo...ten-av-sasongen  quoting myself from another post. Bavarian
I don't believe that Rune has a realistic chance for a GP wild card next year. They will go to Nicki Pedersen, Chris Harris, Darcy Ward and Freddie Lindgren/or Grigory Laguta. Â Holta will ride the last GP of his career next Saturday in Gorzow. Â On financial terms this will even be a blessing for him, because of the Polish EL restriction of one GP rider per team next year. They also restrict the number of foreign riders per team. Â Rune will be neither foreign nor a GP rider next year. Once his injuries are healed, he will be a top class rider again. Torun are mad to release him, just as they made a mistake to release Darcy Ward last year.
mothorsen
Seems to be getting better. He did a decent GP last time, rode well for Dackarna in the Play-Outs and nabbed the Golden Helmet.
Dave_minall
I for one hope that Rune doesn't get a seed for next year. Sure he's shown potential and he's had a few good races, but he's been there an awful long time and whilst he is a world class racer, he's never (in my opinion) showed any kind of potential to win a world championship. Â He could (and probably will) make way for someone who provides a little more entertainment next year. Â Of course if he does get through via seed or qualification in the future, and does do well, consider my hat as edible.
ImpartialOne
I've never been a fan of Holta. I don't dislike him but then I don't "like" him either. He is one of those riders who goes quietly about his business but usually he is very competitive and without looking I believe he has reached World No. 4 status, which shows his class. Â Personally, and I surprise myself by saying this, I would like to see him given a wild card next year. He has been hampered all season with his wrists and has qualified on merit most years, something Lindgren and Harris rarely do, and Nicki Pedersen has failed to do two years running. Â Harris, Lindgren and Pedersen have just been generally poor this year. Holta has a genuine excuse. Â Entertainment wise though, Pedersen has the edge even if he's riding badly so I think Pedersen may get another reprieve but certainly Holta should be in above Lindgren and Harris. Totally agree that Holta should be in front of Harris and Pedersen when it comes to nomination for next year. He's qualified in the top 8 for the past four years I think and finished 4th last year as well as heading the averages in Sweden. He's obviously been riding injured all year and if anyone deserves a pick it's him. He's certainly no gating tart either, I would imagine in the previous seasons he has done as much overtaking as anyone in the GP's.

Number 4 in the world is potential plenty. A horrible season due to injury put him back a bit, but when he gets back in the game all fit as afiddle, I bet he'll be a force to be reckoned with.
