f-s-p
Well Otti has posted the FIM official results that were sent to her and Niedermaier is through. But anything can and does happen.I can't actually get it to load up clear enough to see,but seeing as she say's it is Max i guess she can-Wait and see until the committee meets later eh? spedway.org is now also disgarding a Ruskie and saying that Järf is through... Too fricking complicated. If the rulebook is online for everyone to see, how can ANYONE say that you're in and you're not, if the rules dont say so... Come on! I'm crucified as an ässhole for much less over here...

f-s-p
Knapp through from Sanok by merit with Krasnikov. Good. EDIT: As is Ivanov and Henderson. I'm pleased for Henderson, after everything he showed his place is there. Edited January 28, 2012 by f-s-p

f-s-p
Even better now. They are doing the semi's + final again because some riders were in the wrong race. 070.10.19 Rerun heat If a Referee declares the heat over after one or more riders have crossed the finish line, it shall not be re-run. Except in very special circumstances and situations that are beyond the control of the referee and have influenced the heat result. Then a heat can be re-run. Only the referee can take this decision and order a re-run. Good thing the FIM changed this rule for this year. Before they were unable to do reruns after someone had crossed the line. DutchGrasstrack
Knapp and Hendersson were very good tonight. The crowd went wild when Knapp got second place in the Final, he got passed anyway by Ivanov a lap later, but 3rd is fantastic.
iris123
Sounded very promising the American(who was that?Galvin?)talking about starting the sport in the US + Canada.Caught me by surprise in the break and only caught a bit of it.But i guess he said 5 tracks in the States and 2 in Canada.Links in with Anatoli Bondarenko wanting to hold training schools in Canada and the US this December as well.Hope that project comes to fruition

moomin man 76
Does anyone actually have a definitive list of who has qualified? It hardly seems credible that those who have qualified for the GP Stage seem to be decided in smoke filled rooms. In addition, if the Russians are permitted eight riders in the qualifying rounds, there should hardly be an arbitrary quoto of only six being allowed to qualify for the GP Stage. The non-Russian riders who are good enough will still qualify - e.g. Aakko, Zorn. Those who did not obtain a place by merit through the qualifying system are rather unlikely to be contenders in their own right.

f-s-p
from fim-live.com ++++++++++++++ 31/01/12 - 08:26 As anticipated, the Russians were again dominant in the Qualifying Rounds for the FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship held last weekend. In St.Johann, Austria they filled the first 3 places but the local riders Franz Zorn and Harald Simon took the remaining qualifying spots. A surprise elimination was that of ‘Posa’ Sernius the veteran from Sweden who never recovered from a first race disqualification and withdrew after gaining only one more point from his next two rides. The Sanok round produced one of the big surprises of the competition when Gregorz Knapp secured a podium place by finishing 3rd behind defending champion Nikolai Krasnikov and Daniil Ivanov. In Lukhovitsy, home riders filled the first 4 places with the unfancied Eduard Krysov winning the final from Makarov, Karachintsev and Kononov. The final list of qualifiers is shown below and takes into account the fact that no one country is allowed more than 6 representatives at any meeting in the Final Series. This means that Russians Vitaly Khomitsevich and Igor Konokov are relegated to the qualified substitutes list and can race only as a replacement for an injured Russian colleague. Qualified Riders: 1. Nikolay KrasnikovRussia 2. Daniil Ivanov Russia 3. Dmitry Koltakov Russia 4. Dmitry Khomitsevich Russia 5. Eduard Krysov Russia 6. Sergey Karachintsev Russia 7. Franz Zorn Austria 8. Robert Henderson Sweden 9. Grzegorz Knapp Poland 10. Harald Simon Austria 11. Jan Klatovský Czech Republic 12. Antti Aakko Finland 13. Mats Järf Finland 14. Max Niedermaier Germany 15. René Stellingwerf The Netherlands (Permanent Wild Card nominated by FIM) Qualified Substitutes are: 19. Vitaly Khomitsevich * Russia 20. Igor Kononov * Russia 21. Martin Leitner Austria 22. Stefan Svensson Sweden 23. Stephan Pleschacher Germany 24. Fredrik Olsson Sweden 25. Joakim Soderstrom Sweden 26. Fredrik Johansson Sweden 27. Josef Kreuzberger Austria 28. Janne Vilponen Finland *for injured Russian riders only The First event in the Final series will take place in Kranogorsk, Russia next weekend, 4th & 5th February. Details of the riders and the starting numbers draw will be published here shortly.

AchConkers posted those results the day after. The world and his uncle knew by then. You wanted to be argumentative on the night.I reckon your sauna had packed up and you had no beer in the house And you wouldn't expect talk pre meeting at Sanok about Russians really. There were only two in the meeting and it would have been some sort of disaster to expect them not to qualify. If the Federation quota was know beforehand which it must have been then it was fairly easy to see that two Russians from each quali would get through and Makarov being track reserve wouldn't be in the running to qualify even if he got a max.Poor rulings imo.But i can see why they want to limit the Russian riders....or shall we say, give the non-Russians a better chance.I think from talks i am having that even some Russiand realise they need to help strengthen other countries and expand the sport to make it strong for everyone Edited February 1, 2012 by iris123
