f-s-p
The Nordic ice racing final on February 12th has been moved from Forssa to Kauhajoki. Track problems have been named as the cause. It's only been about a week worths of winter and the track at Forssa would have needed loads of snow to start the building of the track and there's been none. Kauhajoki will also host another meeting this season. The individual meeting at Helsinki on March 17th will see riders from 8 different countries with some big names present. It's on artificial ice so it's going to go ahead. It looks very promising.

f-s-p
Those that might not recall, Kai Lehtinen hanged up his leathers after last season. The podium finish at Assen was his last appearance. He's had back problems so I believe this time it's final. Henri Malinen has also called it a day after last season. Shame really, he was quite promising young rider. Good performance's on bikes not quit up to standard on world's level. Dont know about his comeback ideas, most of the ice racing riders usually do one or two...

Its about 15 minutes walk from the town centre, and the bars etc. There is a hotel on site (De Bonte Wever) and a bar inside the main reception of the stadium. Jacqueline stayed there last year, but I believe she wasn't impressed. Groningen is about 25 minutes drive north of Assen is a much better bet for nightlife but the hotels in the area do fill up quickly around Assen, and you may be forced to stay further afield. iris123
@Jacqueline, apparently some hooligans have made very abusive comments regarding comments to him and also his family. According to the article he have received allot of critics for his decisions. Well the latest one,to send Posa + Svensson into the hardest qualifier for the World Championships and the weaker riders into the easier qualis was the straw that broke the camels back.Once Posa disagreed and pulled out it was always likely to cause some problems. The fans generally stand behind the riders and not a team manager in these things.Jacqueline was hoping Posa would get a WC for the Swedish GP,but i couldn't see how that was possible after his decision. In a way i agree with Jansson's idea.It is risky of course, but you hope maybe if it comes off you end up with 3 Swedish guys through instead of two.A manager has to be tough and stick by what he thinks is right, but shouldn't be upsetting his best riders either

The ice racing meeting planned for Oulunkylä, Helsinki on March 17th has been cancelled. The TV company that was supposed to broadcast it pulled out and so did all the major sponsors... SuomiTV, the company in question has been around a few years, never really having broken through to the Finnish TV scene. It has still been a nation wide broadcaster and showed the Supercross meeting from Lahti not so long a go. But after a couple of hard years financially it was bought by Fox international Nordic this week and I guess the first thing they did was to pull out from our precious ice racing meeting. So not only are the people inside the sport more or less arguing against each other, now we have big time international players coming and kicking our sport where it hurts the most! iris123
If the organizers at Uppsala want Posa... From what i have seen, you can only choose a wild card from the riders who have entered the qualifying rounds. So if Posa has pulled out then he doesn't stand a chance.Which is only right and fair on the others

Any FMN may propose suitable Wild Card riders. These proposals must be made in writing to the FIM not later than 1 month prior to the meeting. The CCP Bureau will make the final approval and nomination.

Facebook mate.Told you everyone is on there Thought you might know that.Apparently he has been getting abuse on websites and guest books and even abusive sms' and seeing as you speal Swedish i thought you would have seen some of the abusive posts. And of course the main factor for the abuse was the problem with Posa. But it seems like as elsewhere in speedway he hasn't been getting the proper backing and been taking flak for a while. But as i don't speak Swedish and Sweden or should i say Swedish Ice Racing isn't a main point of interest for me i might as so often be talking bowlaks
