Guest compost
Hi, Can anyone shed any light on these 2 SJL sides please ? I know that they both operated at around the end of the 70's possibly up to 1984 and that Darvel may have had something to do with Ayr, whilst Felton could have been a training track in Newcastle. Was Darvel the successor to the homeless Paisley SJL team ? Are the tracks still around (I've not seen anything on either since c1984), or if not then what happened to them ? As I said above, any info would be welcome. Cheers.

It ran from the late 70s well into the 80s. It was on land belonging to Eshott Aerodrome. I think you can see the shape of the track here just below the runways (If I've got the right place). cyclone
Re Darvel, as far as I'm aware not sure if there were any practice facilities in that area. I believe they practised on the beach. Felton held organised closed to the public meetings, and programmes were printed. I drive past on the A1 three or four times a week so I'll drop in one day when I've got a bit of spare time and see if its accessible. Interesting to see that the shape is still clearly visible, I had assumed that the land would have been put to other uses by now.
