Shadders
Hmmm, any of your current team guilty of doing that in the past? Not sure, not bothered. I support Rye House, not individual riders. You won't get many riders who are loyal to one club and not just looking for the next pay day. Luke Bowen and Chris Neath spring to mind. I never get attached too much to any in particular, prefer to distance myself. You never know if they're gonna kick you in the balls and sod off somewhere else like Mr Frampton. But will his retirement be for keeps, maybe we will see Frampton back somewhere or other before the season ends.

There you go. Edited August 5, 2012 by Cheekee Raylee Monkee

Rayleigh
I konw that I wasnt there on the tour but who knows bike problems maybe. But overall I would like Ricky Kling to replace Frampton, his scores previously were more than accaptable and he would be No 2 to Charlie Cheese (although a straight replacment for a No 1 would be a stretch). afterall even the poor 3 points at Berwick were an improvment to previous heat leaders (Mr Big Stuff) there. He seems a genuine person and a bit of support would I am sure be repaid in buckets.

Cheekee Raylee Monkee
There you go what? 'There you go' refers to the quote by Pirates of Poole that Jordan Frampton is not coming back to speedway. (I hadn't got the hang of the multi-quote so that may have not been clear !! ) I have no is reason to suppose that Pirates' quote is anymore or less reliable as any other on the forum. I actually hope that Pirates is wrong and that Jordan does give it another go - but only if and when his head is right for racing, either at Rye House or somewhere else. Anyway not ot worry. Nelson will be back any minute...................... :D

Nelson will be back any minute...................... :D Thought it may be that, but was just checking. All I know is that a couple of weeks ago he was asking if he was required at another club while still a Rye House rider. Whether he's changed his mind since then and decided to retire I can't say. I'll lay you odds that he'll be back in speedway next year. Nelson Admirals? Edited August 5, 2012 by Shadders

Rayleigh
It wasnt meant as a dig at Neath, it is just for a few years our visits to Sheffield, Workington, Berwick, IOW and usually Kings Lynn we were so uncompetitive.

Rayleigh
Another wierd one, every time I here its wet at a home match, I think we will be caught out yet when it is wet away from home I think we will be caught out.

Edinburgh was very wet, but if anything we looked like adapting better to the treacherous conditions after a hesitant start. If it had stopped raining at heat 6 I'm sure we'd have gone on to win. Edinburgh didn't look like they fancied it. Edited August 5, 2012 by Shadders
Rayleigh
Shadders what is your view on what Rye need to do this season now the two northern tours have sort of completed. Personally at the beginning of the season I thought the team was not too bad with big improvement from Bunyan expected and some young exciting development with Garrity and Nelson, considering we have since gained Charlie Cheese and Mellgren (a big pleasent surpise), the team seems up in the air with Neath and Bowen injured, Hawkins still not doing enough Frampton packing out and Nelson never starting. A top six place is not mathamatically out of the question but there seems to need a stratagy.

I believe there are still enough meetings to get him an average for next year. Wont happen though, so pointless even discussing it. Jason Bunyan hasn't looked like the rider he was before his injuries, not impressed. Charlie is still hit and miss, and Anders has been a pleasant surprise, hopefully already pencilled in for next year. Not keen on Hawkins. After two seasons I've seen nothing to get excited about. His duff performances at Somerset, where he should know the track inside and out, were the last straw. Jason Garrity is a must for next year, lots of improvement to come there. Can't see Neathy back in the saddle any time soon if at all and Luke will miss at least half of next year, so gawd knows what they're gonna do when he's fit and ready. Odds on they're trying to persuade Poole to release Ricky Kling for the remainder of the season Edited August 5, 2012 by Shadders

A top six place is not mathamatically out of the question but there seems to need a stratagy. No chance of top six. We won't pick up enough points away from home and points will be dropped at home. Rye will finish where most predicted at the start of the season, mid table with no cup runs. Side put together at the start of the season had nothing going for it. Nelson was the only one who could have stuck some points on his average, but we've had comedy press releases all season from the promotion about his situation and it smacks of a lack of respect to the fans as they have been fed bs all season. Hawkins signed on the back of promising Silver he would buy a new engine for this season sums up Silvers ambition. Here's a tip Len, it wouldn't matter if he rode on Darcy Ward's equipment, he's a poor rider who offers nothing and how he's got two years at Rye says it all. Just go. Frampton made it clear he didn't enjoy last season at Rye. Len signs him up! Turned out well hasn't it? Bunyan was never going to be the rider he was 3 or 4 years ago and hasn't impressed. Him being back in the reserve berth tells you the story of his season. Mellgren has been the only success of the season and should be the first name down for next season. Although you don't wish to see riders injured and certainly not loyal riders like Neath and Bowen it could benefit Rye in the long run. Silver will have to rip up this side and start all over again as Neath and Bowen won't be there not improving their averages next year. Gjedde, Mellgren and Garrity should be the only one's returning next year. Signing a young Scandanavian for the rest of the season should be the way to go as hopefully he will gain an average and have some experience of British racing. God knows the side needs major surgery as I have had no real desire to watch the sides put together for the last two seasons and I would imagine alot have agreed with me what with reports of poor crowds still at Rye. It wasn't that long ago the average crowd mark was probably around the thousand mark and we were watching Robbo, Ed Kennett, Tai, Danny King, Adam Roynon etc win trophies for the club. Did we really watch such talent week in week out? I can hardly believe the club has sunk so low. We've turned into the Arsenal of speedway, living on reputation alone and years away from our last success, not looking like having any in the future unless there is a total rethink. You can't blame the promotion for snapping up Jason Bunyan, but its a gamble that ultimately failed. Hawkins is another matter and if he's going to be given another season then there will be a few more missing from the terraces next year. I can see a couple of teams going down the tubes during the winter, meaning less league meetings and more meaningless fillers.
