Arson fire
If I read the fixtures correctly we only have scunthorpe at home before Nelson due back before 20/7/2012. Terrible shame for Luke. He had enjoyed a great start to the season too. I dont know how many more of these he can take before he decides to call it a day. Just checked green sheets. although Nelson is .5 more than Luke on green sheets issued on 7/6 he will probably be higher on next green sheets. I cant believe Ritchie Worrall still has a 4.67 average. How on earth can that be right? Shadders I dont know what you think but I think the crowd levels have started to stabilise. It was nt a bad turn out versus Somerset bearing in mind the weather and the Euro's. Have you got a link to new greensheets??.. Rockets
Yes I did Shadders. Dudley did bring quite a few but certainly in the main stand there are a few old faces returning. It is a worry though. We are third in the league (or were when I last looked) with a team that has a good away record and likes to race and yet the crowd is maybe half that of 2007. Economics are perhaps playing their part or is it complacency that fans can just go when they want. People seem to forget the dark Ronnie Rogue years and the subsequent closure. The only link I know of to the green sheets Arson Fire is through the bspa site. Sorry.
bolly
Ok, I am not the best at these things but from what I can make out with current averages, new ones should be out any day now. Tyson if put back into the side has to replace Mellgen on a straight like for like exchange if team is not re-declared. If team is redeclared without Luke then Rye have 6.47 to replace him with so Nelson slots in and still a point to spare !!! I am sure this looks too easy and I have missed something. Gjedde 8.97 Frampton 7.44 Mellgren 5.69 Hawkins 5.31 Bunyan 5.04 Garrity 3.94 Nelson 5.

If Luke is out for the remainder of the season then Tyson can surely be a straight swap if within the points limit? The only issue here is that Len may bring Tyson in for Mellgren and use R/R for Luke......
Greg
Is tyson coming back i think Mellgren has ride very well i would keep him and drop somone else.
Shadders
It would be a scandal if Anders is let go if we can fit him in, as it seems we can. Anyone who saw him race at Somerset on Friday would agree that he was awesome. If Len has any sense he'll make him an offer for next year before someone else does. I'd see him as a straight swop for Jordan who's never really taken to the Rye track and into the hearts of Rye House supporters
Rockets
Looking at the green sheets I wonder whether Len should redeclare now before the new ones come out. With a fairly decent month behind us I suspect some of our averages will have crept up?
Ben91
Only issue being we won't be able to declare Nelson into the side until his visa has cleared which is supposedly going to be in mid-July. It's amused me seeing a few posts on here saying our season is over already, as long as we can achieve a top 6 finish then our season can be alive til the end of October. It's a shame we have lost Luke, he loves the club undoubtedly and has been in decent for this year home and away, will we see him again this year? Who knows though I'm not so sure. If we have a side of Gjedde, Frampton, Mellgren, Nelson, Bunyan, Hawkins and Garrity and they are all firing come the business end of the season then there is no reason we can't win the title. The key part there is that they all need to be firing at the same time as opposed to the inconsistency we are currently experiencing. Rayleigh
Very sad for Luke but Len has avoided a riot if Mellgren had left for Nelson, any chance Len providing us 6 numbers for the lottery on saturday.

I like Jordan but where he has been disappointing for me is away from home. Agreed thr Rye track clearly isn't for him but it seems to have affected his away form too. Anders for me has been the most impressive forced addition, temporary replacement, call him what you will. It's not so much the points he has scored but they way he has got them and his general attitude around the team. At Sheffield it was apparent how upset he was at his performance points wise and his mechanical gremlins letting the side down. In the pits he was the first to help jason garrity after his fall and seems genuinely keen to be part of the team. He seems well liked by the supporters as well and i'm sure Len knows him better than most with Andrew helping him out. So like his fellow Swedes Stefan and Linus i hope Len does sign him up before someone snatches him up

Well i was one of the supporters who felt our season was over after the two home defeats. The only reason i felt that way was Charlies indifferent form. Indeed looking at his real average with us which is just over 8 it fails to get him into the top 20 riders in the Pl which quite frankly is not what you would expect from a rider of his quality. Nor is it what we need more than ever an out and out no1 Win lose or draw i will follow Rye home and away as i have done since 76 but that doesn'tstop me being a realist. I don't like the playoffs and dont like the idea of teams scraping into the playoffs then winning the league. For me Newcastle Somerset and Workington have assembled far superior teams than we have and it would take massive bad luck and injuries for those three for us to overtake them. I stand by my season over comment as i feel that hasn't changed as far as honours is concerned. Of course i would be happy if we did win the playoffs but a victory through the playoffs isn't nearly as sweet as winning the league which is all about season long achievement rather than coming to form for the last meetings of the season. As far a Luke goes he is for me what a rider should be. Clearly loves the club and continues to make strides albeit very small. He is probably the first name on the team sheet along with Chris Neath and so he should be but given his awful run of injuries i hope he eally works for usdoes't try to come back this season as it is an injury that should be treated with respect. If Nelson fits then it is the obvious move i just don't want to see us try and go with rr as it never really seems to work for us. Rockets
I also like the way Garrity is shaping up. He will benefit from the whole season at reserve and may become a real trump card by the end of the season. I really do feel for Luke but if the team ends up as per the line up in Bens post then that is a decent team - home and away with every one of the guys being a racer and not a gating tart. Happy days.

I remember clearly standing on the centre green after our play off final win against Sheffield in 2007, but something wasn't quite right. It didn't feel the same as it did in 2005, nowhere near. didn't help that we didn't even finish in the top 4 as Birmingham actually finished fourth, but not by the cut off date. We actually finished fifth that year!! As for Luke, he has his critics and hell be the first to admit he'll never be more than a PL second string/reserve, but you can't help admiring the way he keeps on coming back from these terrible injuries. Its a real shame he sustained these latest injuries as he was in a run of decent form
bolly
On the latest issue of greensheet averages Lukes average has gone up to 5.57, so if allowed Nelson can slot in direct for Luke on his 5.33 ave. But I think that this depends on whether Anders was signed as a direct replacement for Nelson or if he was taken on as a non nominated rider whose average fitted. We shall wait to see !!! Get well soon Luke, but I know how long these things take to heal as my son broke and had his femur pinned in March and is still not walking without a stick. Let nature take its course and hopefully we will see you and Chris available for team places next season.

aayjaybee
Rolling averages, which includes his brilliant scoring this year, added tomost of his lower scores from last year. It is reckoned we will benefit him being at reserves right throught till about August, but such is the strength of our team that he would be replaced at reserve by Henry on 5.84, who is riding like a heatleader at the moment for both us and while guesting. It's Kalle all over except it is not fiddled. Does anyone know the real reason why Tyson cannot enter the country. Visa's, as proved by others, are usually only a problem for a short period. Someone did mention in a previouse post that Tyson Nelson was not his real name maybe this is why it's taking so long.
bolly
Throwing an engine onto your hand and breaking your thumb and fingers is a bit of a drastic way of getting out of riding two raiders meetings next weekend !!! Jason Garrity
bolly
“Unfortunately, although Jason Garrity rode through the pain barrier for an important 4 points, he had to pull out because his broken thumb was swelling up. It is now doubtful whether he will ride again this year, as he will have to have it re-set in plaster.” Taken from Craig Saul's report of last nights match on http://www.ryehouse.co/default.aspx Craig Saul's report from last night at Plymouth states that Jason Garrity aggravated the thumb injury last night and may not ride again this season. I know he is young and enthusiastic but maybe a bit to impetuous and returned to early from injury, which now may end his season. I sometimes despair that kids can be allowed to come back far too soon. An experienced Promotion should have offered better advice. Now he is out again possibly for the season there will be the usual clamour for Ben to be bought into the side. All well and good in a strong side which we are not. With a clearly struggling Jason Bunyan and Richie Hawkins being so inconsistent we need someone with more experience especially given that R/R is not returning the points we need to cover Luke Bowen. Worrying time with so many away matches coming up thick and fast
