tocha
Len has applied to the BSPA for permission to sign Anders Mellgren as a short term replacement for the continued absence of Nelson. If he is successful, Mellgren will make his debut at Somerset on Good Friday. This rider was part of the Newport team, which achieved a surprise away win at Hoddesdon last year, scoring 11 + 2 from the reserve berth. Rye House will remain within the points limit, so I don't see any objection. Edited March 29, 2012 by tocha
Rockets
The good news is that with the points available he's a very good option but the bad news is there must be a serious problem with Nelsons application.
Main Man
great to see Anders getting his chance. His end of season form was superb and his partnership with Charlie Gjedde superb at 1+2 ..wonder if Rockets will pair them together ??? aayjaybee
I was at the peterborough challenge last night and heard a rumour that Nelson's visa aplication has been rejected and that Anders Mellgren will be at rye for the rest of the season has anyone else heard anything about this. Shadders
Not heard that particular rumour, but I wouldn't be surprised considering the date is April 1st!! Edited April 1, 2012 by Shadders
Catalan
Why should his application be rejected?
bolly
Why should his application be rejected? Because the 'Len Bashers, Doom mongers, and general misery guts' want it to be )) So they can come on this forum and generally say 'I told you so'. Rockets
Very enjoyable meeting last night. Tai and eddie were class and Jensen looked brilliant. For the Rockets Bowen and Garrity were both very competitive and nice to see Jordan get some laps in. I hate to say it but Hawkins was the only one off the pace. I hope Len is ruthless enough to replace him with Nelson when his visa is available.

Nelson for Hawkins when he gets his visa and Rye could be right up there. Gjedde Bowen Nelson Mellgren Frampton Garrity Bunyan Very solid line up and would challenge. It was suggested to me last night that as Mellgren is a straight replacement for Nelson, upon his return Mellgren would have to give way... That is the same situation as Doyle/Boxall last year. Even Len Silver didn't know that rule... Or have I been April fooled?
SCB
Why should his application be rejected? You have the question why someone would change both their surname and then only be known by that surname, so is in effect being known as a name that is not his own. There have been all sorts of rumours about his past, maybe the UK authorities have just caught up with them? Or it could just be an admin thing. But based on the stories I head, I was amazed they let him into the country last year if even half of them things were true!

Haven't Travis McGowan and Jason Doyle had their visa applications similarly rejected?... Do they have a "past" too?

Yes but Jason now has one and theres no suggestion that Travis' will be permanent, unlike Tysons.

Someone at Rye House surely knows what's going on, but the supporters are always the last to know!
LagutaRacingFan
Jepsen Jensen's average would be 7.00 in PL. But he has too many commitments in Poland and Sweden.
