Rye House 2012

Who would you choose if you were Len?

Possibilities: Robert Mear, Kim Nilsson, Denis Gizatullin, Ricky Kling, Pontus Aspegren, Ales Dryml

Probables: Brent Werner, Steve Boxall, Tommy Allen & Magic Mason

Mear and Nilsson can't do it as has already been stated, Lakeside already have two Double Up spots filled. Gizatullin is riding on Saturdays for Eastbourne, Aspgren was a target in the winter supposedly and replacing a proven scorer with an unknown isn't a good idea. Dryml wouldn't maintain the high average he would come in on.

Gjedde for Neath and Topinka for Lanham/Nelson on a short deal, if he does well then we can keep him on with room to re-accomodate Nelson for a lower order rider when Nelson finally gets into the country, if not he goes when Tyson comes back.

I'd be happier with that than Boxall for sure.

Ricky Kling could be a possible target, bit of a strange choice of guest to go to Plymouth with, seeing as he could barely string 4 laps of Belle Vue together whenever I saw him on Sky last season, can't see him being any better round Rye, happy to be proven wrong though.

It is looking a bit thin on the ground to replace Chris.........Charlie Gedde looks the best bet but would his demands be to high,,nothing much else fits the bill i fear the worst.......

Charlie Gjedde

Tyron Proctor

Dennis Andersen

I do not know if they are available or if their averages exactly fit in, but they could all do the job as a number 1 at Rye House.

It states in the local paper that Len has almost finalised the new look Rockets and it will be announced tomorrow (friday)

I hope he can bring an ace out from his sleeve and get our season back on track, and I hope Chris can just concentrate on getting better ready for next season. :t:

Ricky is not riding at Rye House. He is guesting for them at Plymouth tomorrow. However, I imagine the choice is one of logistics. Len might have preferred to use Josh for both fixtures but it is a hell of a journey from the North East to Plymouth. Ricky will be in the area I imagine. Poole rode last night so it wouldn't surprise me if his base is with Neil Middleditch at Bailie House. That's where the rest of the Poole team lodge when they are over here.

Charlie is as far as I am aware. The other two are not unless their respective promotions can be persuaded to seek out DU riders or they are sacked.

Incidentally, the name is Andersson not Andersen. He is Swedish not Danish.

I know that.

I was stating that as a choice of guest it is a strange one if Len isn't looking at signing him, logistically or not. I can't recall Kling having ridden at Plymouth in the past either so there's no proven track record that he could be a good choice. May be a way of the promotion getting a look at him.

Charlie's average does fit as a replacement for Chris if he is available Len should do what ever it takes to get him for the rest of the season. Then it will just be guests untill Nelson comes back and Morley for Bunyen and R/R for Jordan.

The signing of Charlie is a no brainer. Very pleased we have secured him for the rest of the season. What annoys me is the taken for granted RR for Jordan. Even with Nelson back assuming that will happen we simply can't cover using RR. In assuming his wrist wil be ok in 6-8 weeks the Management could be way off the mark. Always a difficult injury to heal and the bone in question is notoriously bad bone to damage for speedway riders. In my opinion a temporary replacement was a must. Without a like for like replacement we will struggle at home and i shudder to think how we will fare on the bigger faster tracks where you would expect Jordan to excel.

Lastly best wishes to Chris. From the last press release his injury is clearly a bad one needing lots of hard work for him in the coming months. Good luck with that.

How about Sam Simota? There's always talk of him returning to Britain but he hasn't ridden here on a full time basis for a while. He would surely be a decent replacement for Frampton? JT.

Great signing..but i fear a considerable loss of points using RR for Jordon Frampton. that problem still needs to be solved with some urgency...

Heard about this last night from a reliable source... Very pleased with the signing of Chas... Great move by Len who deserves credit for digging deep when it looked like our season was down the toilet before it had even started!

What I want to know is who we are gonna have as guest when we go to Berwick? ;)

I agree with you that RR is unsatisfactory but, Len has to select the right rider. I am not sure who just now although Chris Schramm is a possibilty. Remember Ray Morton, Lee Smethills, Ross Brady, Robbie Kessler etc. He won't want to go down that road again! In fact, Leigh can be available in a guest capacity, when meetings with Ipswich do not clash, until Nelson appears. That clash doesn't happen until 26th April when Rye House, ironically, visit Ipswich. In this case he would now guest as a replacement for Jordan with RR for Nelson.

Why would we get R/R for someone cocking up a visa application at the club and for someone who can't be declared in the side?

Simply, if Nelson isn't here by good Friday then Len has to sign a replacement, which is why he's left it open.

R/R for Frampton is an awful decision with the make up of the side. Hawkins, Bowen and the reserves taking extra rides for the second heatleader spells disaster. Will be a real one man team away from home.

Pleased that Gjedded has signed. A no brainer, but he's a proper racer and Rye need as many as them as possible to get the fans back and get some atmosphere going around the place.

Has Steve Boxall been fixed up yet?????

he was supposed to be riding for Plymouth but was sacked for not turning up for p&p - he probably could not ride for anyone at present as he will surely be suspended - don't think we would want him anyway - didn't see anyone complaining about him being left out this year

Bowden offered his team place to Lanham in the press, so I don't blame him for not turning up.

No doubt though he hasn't got the attitude to make a career in the sport. A real shame as he should be at the same sort of level as Daniel King at the moment, but seems he doesn't have a clue mechanically and has pissed too many people off with a crap attitude.

Would still take him over Hawkins on a lawnmower though.
