Shadders
Good chance for Rye to use one of the weekends up on the Scottish Tour. Good shout, but we're at the mercy of the Moanarchs promotion who sort out all of the PL fixtures... The Rockets Northern tours seem to be taking place earlier and earlier in the season, so don't be surprised if we're travelling up there in late April when there will still be snow on the ground! Lord Skid
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/motorsport/6295065/Dream-ride-for-his-adopted-homeland How did Len get a GP rider at reserve, life in the old dog yet.
bolly
Good news for a Rye House Rider Have we ever had a current Grand Prix rider in the team before ?? I am sure that other members and ex-riders from Rye will rally round to help him. Richie Hawkins - gating coach Steve Boxall - mechanic and bike preparation Luke Bowen - wheelies and celebrations Chris Neath - Racing tactics and grippy track settings Len Silver - PR and supporters club Oh well, It will be good to see him on the parade lap. Shadders
Good news for a Rye House Rider Have we ever had a current Grand Prix rider in the team before ?? Wasn't Linus a reserve in a GP while he was with us?

Shadders
Sure Tai was aswell?? I think he was a reserve at Cardiff in 2008, but didn't get a ride.... I'm now not sure Linus was a Rocket when he rode in a GP Edited January 22, 2012 by Shadders
Lord Skid
Big difference in being a wild card and a meeting reserve though.
bolly
Your right Shadders. Scandinavian GP (Malilla) 14th August 2010. Linus as reserve, 2 rides and 1 point. But I am still looking for a rider who started a grand prix in the named 16 ? In the last few years I can think of only Linus, Tai, Eddie K and Davey Watt who have ridden in Grand Prix's. but not in main body of grand prix when currently riding for Rye House. I know that a lot more of you have a more in depth and longer knowledge of Rye House riders history. jenga
i think all rye fans will have to buy wide screen tv,s so you can see all the four riders in the nz gp.
Ben91
Brilliant news! Big year for Bunyan, he's been doing well in NZ over the winter, going to be a bargain at reserve. We had Eddie Kennett ride in the British GP in 2005, beat Greg Hancock too.
tocha
Big difference in being a wild card and a meeting reserve though. Speaking of reserves, I wonder who Rye might be able to use during their early meetings. The home fixtures will start on Saturday, 17th March - a challenge possibly? - then two PL meetings on 24th and 31st plus away matches. The reason I mention this is that I cannot imagine Jason flying back to the UK now until after the NZ GP. A guest facility may be ruled out as Jason will not have appeared for Rye yet so Len may have to use Ben Morely or another Raider in the meantime. Rockets
This was all going so well till you said that Tocha!
Ben91
Surely the answer is to have a Raiders meeting the night of the GP so that Jason won't miss out.
bolly
Just a thought !!! I'm not sure as it doesn't normally apply to Rye. Didn't GP riders automatically get an 8 or above average for team building average in the EL, as Jason will not have actually ridden for Rockets prior to the GP ? I hope nothing silly like this will apply ? Wev'e had sillier things happen in speedway before Edited January 22, 2012 by bolly
