manchesterpaul
Sky wrong again a point will not be enough for Emil if Jonsson wins his race. And i say that very sleepy and bleary eyed. Andreas would have 2 WINS in his 7 points. Take it back Emil would edge out Lindgren on their records. Oh well at least Harris didn't make me eat humble pie lol. My eyes are shutting now zzzzzzzz. EDIT my EDIT i was right and Sky were wrong. Slep deprivation is powerful. SCB
Sky wrong again a point will not be enough for Emil if Jonsson wins his race. And i say that very sleepy and bleary eyed. Andreas would have 2 WINS in his 7 points. And if Emil scored 1 Bjarne beats him on count back as Emil has an exclusion and if Harris had win it he had 7 too and he'd have had the same as Bjarne on count back but would have gone though due to his lower race number. They missed all that! Fools. Anyway, phenomenal race!

manchesterpaul
Anyway, phenomenal race! Indeed, got to admit i couldn't care less myself about who knew what. Also too be honest i'm well chuffed Sky have given us this meeting LIVE so they can do and say whatever they want, they can do no wrong in my eyes tonight/today. It's an entertaining GP so far even ahead of the semi-finals and final. Edited March 31, 2012 by manchesterpaul

speedyguy
Looking at the crowd it looks like many are first time visitors to speedway and are just sitting on the grass clapping politely. Not the way to get an atmosphere going as they probably don't really know who is who. and don't have club or more like it country allegiences. When you analyse the in-depth strength of New Zealand solo speedway I would think many of the NZ attendees are new to speedway and overall it means little to them. Most are possibly there for a "good day out of entertainment", people in the same mould as hose who would go to a major pop concert. But, if the meeting does have an effect on creating more domestic (ie New Zealand intrest for speedway) some good at that domestic level may come from it. A concern though is that a kiwi newcomer after witnessing the GP riders might turn up at one of the three domestic New Zealand tracks expecting the same sort of action and sadly they will be disappointed with what they get in regard to rider standard and action. To me a comparision is watching your first ever football match and seeing Barcelona v Manchester United, then visiting your own local team for the first time and - with respects - watching say Welling United v Dover! Let's hope my concerns are proved to be wrong. Edited March 31, 2012 by speedyguy

Bagpuss
Could have sworn I saw 'gating tart' Bjerre sweep past Freddie Also funny how Noddy doesn't have the speed from the word go and its fine yet Bjerre has two engine failures and gets chastised for not being able to get past Bunyan on what looked like a moped anyway prejudices aside I thought it was a very good GP with some great racing after the initial round of heats. Would have liked to have seen a little more grip but was the best GP I've seen for a good while so hats off to everyone. And on a final note I hope Bjerre's bikes are just as reliable on Friday
Cj69
Finally in Hotel after GP and wot a great afternoon of speedway. Sat next to some kiwis who had never been to speedway before and the look on their faces at some of the close riding and diving in on 3rd bend was priceless. The stadium was fantastic best iv been to for speedway, racing was boring at parts but overall very good. And got to meet Ivan Mauger, Andreas Jonsson and Jason Bunyans Mum .
