2011 Season Opener Latest News...

With only weeks to go Perth's Pinjar Park speedway is back for the summer season with young Queensland rider Harley Brigden being the first confirmed interstate rider named to compete at the Foundation Cup season opener October 1st, at the ultra exciting Pinjar Park.

Its been a tradition in past seasons for the SMCWA & Pinjar Park, to bring over 2 of Australia's best young ''up n coming'' speedway riders to compete at the Chum Taylor Foundation Cup season opener. Harley comes to Perth highly recommended and we look forward to seeing this young charger take on the local stars around the Pinjar ring...

The SMCWA are currently in talks with several other young chargers and will announce another rider to join Harley very shortly.

Riders such as Darcy Ward, Richard Sweetman, Jake Anderson, Dakota North, Alex Davies, Sam Masters and Mason Campton to name a few have all competed at the Chum Taylor Foundation Cup meeting. The SMCWA are very proud to have given these young stars the opportunity to travel to Perth and strut their stuff at the Park. Proceeds from the meeting go into the Chum Taylor Foundation which club members can apply for to go towards interstate travel to MA Title meetings around the country.

Remember you can ''get up close'' at Pinjar Park.

Medson Signs on...

Young South Aussie hot shot Robert Medson will join Queensland's Harley Brigden as the two interstate imports that will contest the Foundation Night season opener at Perth's ultra exciting Pinjar Park speedway. Robert comes to Perth highly recommended by Pinjar regular, Victoria's ''Wild Thing'' Tyron Proctor. Robert is in his 2nd year of senior racing with a very good junior record behind him. Robert won back to back Australian junior best pairs titles in 09 & 2010 and finished a very credititable 3rd in last years Australian 350cc title. This will be Rob's 2nd trip to Pinjar as he last rode here in 08 at the Australian U/16 Title.

We are again ''thrilled to bits'' to have these two outstanding young racer's join us for what is building to be a great night of motorcycle speedway action, SMCWA Steve Marson said today. We're very pro active in bringing out riders each season to not only expose some great young talent but to push Pinjar Park to the rest of Australia. We have the best of both worlds here, a truly great junior track and a hugely exciting senior track with a couple of super fast racing lines.

From everyone one at the SMCWA and Pinjar Park we would like to take this opportunity to wish Rob a speedy recovery. Its been a pleasure to have Robert and his father Richard in Perth for the weekend, by the way Roberts that's 80 bucks for the new panel mate fix us up next time ok...
