BossMan
That is excellent news!! Maybe for you but I will not be attending that's for sure - I have attended most meetings at Rye despite not agreeing with the experiment. Can only see a very poor crowd for this one unless it's some sort of double header or "FREE" entry

Its all going to be at Rye next season so why allienate the fans at this late stage makes no sense ,,unless Scunny/ Sheff want it on a friday ,or want to ride at Lakeside (cant think why)..? In what possible way does staging this outstanding fixture at Lakeside "alienate" RH fans!? From the offing it was agreed that the Hackney fixtures would be shared between the two tracks; and all this is, is a continuation (actually a conclusion) of that agreed policy. Personally I'd be more 'alienated' by the totally unnecessary cancellation of the fixture on Sunday - when, of course, if it had gone ahead we'd be having no need to have this conversation! Maybe the Saints folk would prefer the restaghing to be at Lakeside because of the wholly unsatisfactory nature of Sunday's call-off - thank goodness it didn't actually affect the play off positions... Few would have been happy with sundays call off ,but you must understand that the Hawks are basically a Rye team the fans of which have no wish to have to go to what they consider is an away track..A track that has already pulled the plug on national league matches through lack of support..Why this final meeting is being staged there only John and Len know the reason ..It may be a request from the opposition who may prefer friday night to sunday afternoon ,i dont know..But i can assure you the majority would prefer it was at Rye House..And thank god it will be next season.... Good lord - why is there such a bad attitude to this Hackney idea...? People need to go with the flow more.. The only place I've seen fans turning up this season (sure not in big numbers it has to be admitted) overtly supporting the Hackney idea has been at the few Lakeside-staged Hawks' matches; and I repeat, only at Lakeside was there any attempt whatsoever to brand as Hackney. Rye House direhards hardly give their NL (formerly CL) sides much support anyhow - the idea of Hackney was a far better one than sticking with a poorly backed RH junior side; but no, not for the wreckers who delight to knock it all on here... I've lost count of the number of times over the years, RH have called off a third tier match for no reason and that's what happened again on Sunday.. Yet apparently restaging a dead rubber at a track where they'd actually put the meeting on is considered some kind of national disaster...!! Of course, we still do not know the real reason last Sunday's fixture was called off, it certainly had nothing to do with the weather with no rain forecast nor fell. Some are saying it might have been bike issues within the Rockets team. Suppose, though, it could have been Len having second thoughts about offering the Hawks' match free of charge. After all, the original staging was allocated to Lakeside earlier in the year so he might have persuaded the Lakeside promotion that they were duty-bound to accept it this time. cityrebel
bike problems was the rumour i heard at sittingbourne on sunday. i find that hard to believe when you are riding against one of the weakest teams in the PL. who knows what goes on in the world of uncle len these days. Shadders
So 3 and a half riders prefer each track? He did say about 50-50, so it could be 4-3 prefer Rye House I'd say that Marc Owen prefers Lakeside... Ben Morely and David Mason have a liking to Rye House... As for the other 4, I couldn't say! westhamboy66
Hmm, and not one which makes a whole lot of sense.. Says the fixture on the 18th. shall be the "Hawks' last ever" (something I'm sure a lot of people would like to think could one day be proved wrong...) but then goes onto say that actually the team shall be called the RH Raiders for this challenge match..! Says really all that needs to be about how the so-called 'experiment' was treated by the RH half of the set-up... Nonsense. Why the constant knocking of Len Silver? had cold chips maybe? Glad to get back to the Raiders brand for next season. Pity that The Arena set up didn't have the enthusiasm to fully see it through but then i suppose it's down to money for them as well as so many blank dates in their programme that they entered into it in the first place. Fortunately there are Promoters like Len Silver who will continue to do all he can for the young riders

Fortunately there are Promoters like Len Silver who will continue to do all he can for the young riders No shortage of enthusiasm from Stuart Douglas. Lakeside, in association with George and Linda Barclay now have probably the best training school in the country, and one that apparently gets much more support than the RH school. In addition Stuart has announced his intention to link up with a PL and an NL club so that together with the training school there will hopefully be a clear career path for young Brits from training school to NL to PL to EL. As far as the Hackney experiment was concerned it appears not to have attracted widespread support from the paying public and you cannot ignore the financial implications. I would not for a moment knock Lens efforts for young riders but let's not forget he does not have an EL team to worry about, and lets be grateful that there is a promoter with the enthusiasm of Stuart Douglas because quite frankly most of the other EL promoters couldn't care less as long as they can buy ready trained poles and Swedes off the shelf. I have to say though that I wonder about the attitude of some fans who say they are not going to support a team because they don't like they name.
