speedy17
Taken from stars website... 'This years Pride of the East championship will close the season Speedway season at the Norfolk Arena. The meeting see some of the best riders compete against each and this years date is set for the the 15th March, lineup and admission prices are to follow in due course.' Hardly closing the season if it's on the 15th of March, is this an error?
Bagpuss
I'd imagine that is a typo, it should probably read 15th Oct (Saturday)

WembleyLion
I'd imagine that is a typo, it should probably read 15th Oct (Saturday) I would be surprised if they were allowed to run it that night due to the ELRC at Swindon. justspeedway
See KL had in the program last night who some of the riders were who they have sent invites out to for Pride of the East, and also it looks like KL will be holding a Young Guns meeting. It wasn't my program (another family members)so I don't have it to hand to write the names on here and my memory is rubbish so if anyone is able to post the names on here would be good thanks for Pride of the East and Young Guns please! speedy17
Young Guns meeting is giving an opportunity for the riders to qualify for the Pride of the East next Wednesday (28th), lineup is as follows... Taylor Poole Simon Lambert Adam Roynon Linus Eklof Simon Nielsen Andrew Tully Kalle Katajisto Chris Mills (Young? ) Tyson Nelson Robin Aspegren Alex Davies James Brundle Lewis Kerr Thomas Jorgensen Tero Aarnio Micheal Palm Toft And then the Pride of the East (14th October) invites gone out and probable lineup is... Niels Kristian Iversen Mads Korneliussen Rory Schlein Tai Woffinden Shane Parker David Howe Davey Watt Danny King Olly Allen Lasse Bjerre Cameron Woodward Lewis Bridger Linus Sundstrom Ty Proctor Maciejk Janowski So as it stands there will be one qualifier from the young guns meeting, although i'm sure the amount of spaces will grow... NeilWatson
The Pride Of the East meeting scheduled to take place at King’s Lynn Speedway on Friday 14th October, has unfortunately been cancelled for the second consecutive season. The club has been struggling to assemble a competitive line up for various reasons and have decided to cancel the meeting rather than run a substandard product. Club promotor Jonathan Chapman revealed: "Decisions like this are hard but in all honesty it was getting harder by the day to put the event together, I don’t blame the riders, they just simply have a busy schedule and the ones that are available are not prepared to ride for the money that is on offer. We could run a Premier League standard meeting, but we did that last week with the International Top Gun meeting which to be honest wasn’t very well supported" This means the club now only have one fixture remaining in the 2011 season, on Wednesday 19th October when the British Under 23’s take on their Swedish counterparts in an international test match. Star Lady
Could it be a dearth of quality riders at this time of the season? or Apathy by the viewing public. Can't blame them really most individual meetings nowadays have a fair percentage of no show riders and lower, sometimes much lower, quality replacements. Bagpuss
Disappointing but to be honest not particularly suprising, we'd been given no more details on the line up and its obvious that the big boys just aren't interested in these meetings any more. I personally think it would be better to hold the event as a season opener so that rider availability would be much better.
